Interdependence and coexistence mean the state in which two or more parties interact in a relationship of mutual help and encouragement for the well-being of all. The trend toward interdependence and coexistence have gained global momentum in the past decades. Since the financial crisis in the 1990s, South Korea began to recognize the limits of the capitalist economic system. Recent societal debates on gap-eul relations (oppressive relationships based on unequal power dynamics) spurred further discussions on the need for peaceful coexistence. The trends are leading up to discussions on collaborative economy--a way for members of a society to share limited resources rather than exclusively fulfilling one’s own needs. Interdependence and coexistence also need theological interpretation. To interpret the concept of coexistence, this study introduces hermeneutical missiology of the theologian Theo Sundermeier, known for the concept of Konvivenz. This study then visits the role of humanity, however flawed and limited, in the Mission of God, to finally state the need for participation of the whole global Church in fulfilling the Mission of God.

상생관계 또는 공존의 사전적 의미는 “둘 이상이 서로 북돋우며 다 같이 잘 살아감, 서로 도와서 함께 존재함”이라는 뜻이다. 구성원들 간의 협력을 통한 상생과 공존의 트렌드는 수년 전부터 전세계적 동향을 보여왔는데, 한국은 금융위기 이후 자본주의 체제의 태생적 한계를 인식하면서 ‘갑을논쟁’을 계기로 본격적 논의가 이어졌다. 상생과 공존을 추구하는 흐름은 사회 성원 간에 자신만의 주머니를 불리고 더 많은 재화를 소비하기보다 한정된 재화를 더불어 지혜롭게 사용하는 공유경제에 주목하게 되었다. 더불어 상생과 공존의 신학적 필요성에도 주목해야 할 것이다. 이에 본글은 상생에 대한 해석학적 전제로서 콘비벤츠 신학자인 테오 준더마이어의해석학적 선교학을 소개하고 있으며, 이어 연약한 인간을 사용하시는 ‘하나님의 선교’개념을 개진하였고, 마지막으로 그 하나님의 선교를 위해서는온세상 전체교회의 협생(協生)이 필요하다는 점을 피력하고 있다
