In this study, I looked at the article "An Oral Life History of College Student Athletic Meritocrat: A Mule or An Icebraker" to see what happens to a scholar's life. I was able to find the figure of the athlete and the poet in that place, and the whole contents of his life could be deduced from the concept of 'Myeokdeok' of 'DaeHak'. First, the identity of athletic speculator has a variable nature, and it expanded the study participants who study and exercise together to a philosophical view that is analogous to mule or icebreaker. In the meantime, he published his poems and theses, including "Dao" and "Virtue", saying "I have to walk and make it." Second, based on his identity, he looked back on his [克] and saw that there were people who tried to complete self by walking silently on the way [ The characteristics of the qualitative research, in which the researcher and the participant complete the research together by exploiting the characteristic of the memory recalling stage and presenting the characteristic of the step. Third, the place where the icebreaker passes is called "Virtue" as "body" and should be able to share something in order to be friends [new people]. It is Virtue (德) that allows sharing of friendship when he refers to "the place where the icebreaker passes is the spot where the body sprinkled the Virtue". In his poem, 'Virtue' is a premise that allows people to socialize. This is in line with 'DaeHak', 'Myeongdeok' and 'Chinmin'. Therefore, it can be seen that Park Ki-dong conveys 'Dao' of 'DaeHak' through poetry. Fourth, through his research and poetry work, he can reveal his 'Myeongdeok' and at the same time, he can promote 'Myeondok' of a student athlete. Finally he asks the poem, "Who can be the icebreaker of my destiny?" In the study of oral life history, it is concluded that "'Do (道)' is made to walk." This is the same as the runner who learned the meaning of "DaeHak" and taught him the next generation. Therefore, he believes that life is an important aspect of human life and that it will contribute to making a world in which physical education becomes one with goodness. 이 연구는 학자의 삶을 살아오면서 나타나는 모습을 알아보기 위하여 그가 연구한 논문 ｢노새 혹은 쇄빙선｣을 들여다 보았다. 그곳에서 체육 인의 모습과 시인의 모습을 찾을 수 있었으며 그의 삶 전체를 『대학(大學)』의 명덕(明德) 개념으로 알아본 결과 다음과 같은 내용을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 체육특기자의 정체성이 가변적 성격을 갖고 있는 것으로 공부와 운동을 병행하는 연구참여자들을 노새 혹은 쇄빙선에 비유하는 철학적 안목으로 확장했다. 그러면서 “도는 걸어가야 만들어진다.”고 하면서 도(道)와 덕(德)을 내포하면서 그의 시와 논문을 통하여 발표했 다. 둘째, 정체성을 바탕으로 자신[克]을 돌아보고[顧] 남들이 가지 않은 길[道]을 묵묵히 걸어감으로써 자신을 완성[自明]하기 위해 노력하는 사람 들이 존재하는 것을 보며 그는 연구참여자들의 과거 기억을 현재로 불러내 어 회상하는 단계의 특성을 잘 살려서 연구자와 참여자가 함께 연구물을 완성하는 질적연구의 특성을 드러냈다. 셋째, 쇄빙선이 지나간 자리는 ‘몸으로 덕을 뿌린 자리’라고 말하며 서로가 친목[親(新)民]하기 위해서는 그 무 엇인가를 공유할 수 있어야 한다. 그가 쇄빙선이 지나간 자리가 몸으로 덕 을 뿌린 자리라고 표현하는 것을 미루어 볼 때 친목의 공유를 가능하게 하는 것은 ‘덕(德)’이다. 즉 그의 시에서 덕(德)은 사람들이 서로 친목할 수 있게 하는 전제다. 이것은 『대학』의 명명덕(明明德), 친(신)민과 맥락을 함 께 한다. 따라서 박기동은 시를 통해 『대학』의 도(道)를 전하고 있다는 것 을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 그는 연구와 시 작품을 통해서 자신의 명덕(明德)을 밝히는 동시에 학생선수의 명덕(明德)을 진작할 수 있게 하여 체육으로 하나 되는 세계, 그 세계가 지향해야 할 이상향까지를 제시하고 있다. 마지막 으로 그는 시에서 “나 말고 누가 내 운명의 쇄빙선이 될 수 있을까요?”라고 묻고 있다. 그리고 구술 생애사 연구에서는 “도(道)는 걸어가야 만들어진다.”라고 마무리된다. 이것은 주자가 『대학』의 뜻과 도리를 익혀 훗날의 군 자를 기약한 것과 같다. 따라서 그는 인간이 살아가는데 있어 중요한 인생 관이 명명덕(明明德)에 있으며, 체육이 선으로 하나 되는 세상을 만드는데에 기여하기를 기대하고 있다.
