A Comparative Study on the Architect Registration Exam Systems of Korea and the United States
초록
영어
Recently, Korea and the U.S. have undergone a major change in the Architect Registration Exam. Korea will abolish the preliminary examination in 2019, and starting next year, only those with a KAAB accredited degree will be eligible for the Architect Registration Exam after three years of architecture experience training. In the U.S., the ARE 4.0 which had been in operation since 2009 was terminated and the ARE 5.0 has been tested since July 2018. At this point in time, this study focused on the Architect Registration Exam and the Architecture Experience Program in Korea and the U.S.. The study found that, Korea's Architect Registration Exam and related systems need to be interlinked and the Architecture Experience Program needs to be improved in terms of detailed regulations and the designation of a minimum number of days for each training item. In addition, it is desirable that the Korean Architect Registration Exam is converted into a computer-based test and automatic evaluation system while improving the method of testing and verifying the training contents covered by the Architecture Experience Program.
