This research focuses on theme and means of visual expression in my artwork, the subject of which is the ‘memory of immemorial life activity and the accumulated places of life traces’, on which I have been working for many years. This series entitled was started to find a mind-resting place for communing with nature in a world ruled by scientific understanding and a broadening urban scope. The artwork presents part of an immemorial landscape holding the energy of myth in a light transition. Here, ‘originated-landscape’ existing in our ‘collective unconscious’ is considered in an effort to understand imagery projecting onto artwork. Immemorial images recalled into landscape are images beyond time and culture that act as a mediator between instinct and consciousness. Regarding visual expression, 3D printing to create CG images into actual forms and a 3D pen which creates real objects from drawings in air are used. The role of lighting all over is explained as a device for enabling space travel and creating a supernatural mood. Furthermore, light causing a material to undergo dematerialization is used a means of introspecting about the meaning of existence, summoning the inner rhythm of life, akin to super-string inherited in terms of memory and time.

본 연구는 작가의 지속적인 작업주제인 ‘태고의 생명활동에 대한 기억과 삶의 흔적들이 축적된 장소’에 대한 탐구로서, 작품의 제작의도 및 시각적 표현방법에 대한 분석이다. 시리즈는 도시공간이 확장되고 과학적인 이해가 지배하는 세계에서 자연과의 교감을 통한 마음의 쉼터를 찾고자 진행되었다. 작품은 화면을 변화시키는 빛과 함께 신화의 기운을 머금은 원초적 풍경의 일부를 제시한다. 작품에 투영된 심상(心傷)에 대한 이해를 위해 인간의 ‘집단 무의식’에 존재하는 ‘원풍경(原風景)’을 고찰하였다. 풍경에 소환된 태고의 이미지는 시대나 문화를 초월하여 정신에 깃든 원초적 심상의 산물이며 본능과 의식을 잇는 매개로 작용한다. 표현방법으로는 CG이미지가 실체를 지니게 되는 3D프린팅 과정과 허공에서의 드로잉이 가능한 3D펜의 사용에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 다른 공간으로의 이동과 초자연적인 교섭을 가능하게 하는 장치로서 화면전반에 사용된 빛의 작용에 대해 설명하였다. 본래의 물성을 탈물질화 시키는 빛의 작용은, 기억과 시간 속에 내재된 초끈(super-string)과 같은 생명의 내적 리듬(inner rhythm) 을 불러내며 존재 의미를 성찰하게 하는 통로로 사용되었다.
