Today, Glocalism which means attitudes or ideas pursuing both globalism and localism is rising as an eye-opening concept so it is even specified as the trend of the times. Such a trend has a great effect on the fashion world and there is an emerging need to look back on the meaning of our identity and its underlying roots. Hence, reflecting the current of the times, this study aims to shed light on Cheollik of the Joseon Dynasty period as a source for inspiration for creative design thinking, analyzing its unique formative beauty, and present fashion design expressing it in a new manner. As for the research methodology, literature research and visual data analysis were conducted together. As for the research contents, it consisted of overall review of Cheollik and analysis of its formative beauty, plan for work and presentation of a result. As a result of analysis, the study suggested the formative beauty of Cheollik as beauty of linear form, that of space emptied and filled, that of composure and that of flight, and 3 fashion design works applying them above were created. Research findings are as follows. Firstly, beauty of linear form was represented as coexistence and harmony of straight and curved lines, and beauty of space emptied and filled was represented as juxtaposition of spaces with and without pleats. Furthermore, beauty of composure was shown from loose shapes and silhouettes, and beauty of flight was shown from an image of flight by light and see-through materials. With a design motif from Cheollik, the works in the research could express modern sensibility based on beauty of Cheollik as beauty of linear form, that of space emptied and filled, that of composure and that of flight through design by methods including separation and combination, inversion, switch of direction, change of location, omission and layering Thirdly, an ample silhouette was created by layering and repetitive use of several pieces of a pleated material and dynamic and rhythmical beauty of layering was expressed. Fourthly, juxtaposition of empty and pleated spaces resulted in beauty of interesting space. It was possible to express calm harmony rather than dramatic confrontation when using colors and texture in unity. Besides, there was a dramatic effect to emphasize certain space when there was a great difference between color and texture. Fifthly, beauty of flight was emphasized by layering of pleats like feather from a light and white material on an ample silhouette. Shown from research findings above, the study has significance in that it presented unique and modern fashion design of Korean formative beauty by applying a specific composition method. This experimental research is expected to be helpful for a developmental pathway for modern fashion design works.

세계화와 함께 지역화를 추구하는 태도나 사고를 의미하는 글로컬리즘은 오늘날 하나의 사조로 구분될 만큼 괄목할 만한 개념으로 부상하고 있다. 이러한 추세는 패션계에도 큰 영향을 미치고 있는바 우리의 정체 성과 그 근원적인 뿌리에 대한 의미를 되짚어 볼 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 이러한 시대적 흐름을 반영하여 창의적 디자인 사고의 영감원으로서 조선 시대 철릭을 조명하고 그것이 지닌 독특한 조형 미를 분석해 그를 새롭게 표출시킨 패션디자인을 제안하고자 함에 목적을 둔다. 본 연구의 방법으로는 문헌 연구와 시각자료 분석연구 방법을 병행했다. 연구 내용은 철릭에 관한 일반적 고찰과 조형미 분석 그리고 작품 계획 및 결과 제시로 이루어졌다. 분석 결과로 철릭의 조형미를 선적 조형미, 비움과 채움의 공간미, 여유의 미, 비의 미로 제시하고 이를 적용한 패션디자인 작품 3벌을 제작하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선적 조형미는 직선과 곡선의 공존과 조화로 나타났으며 비움과 채움의 공간미는 주름이 없는 공간과 주름으로 채워진 공간의 병치미로 나타났다. 또한 여유의 미는 여유로운 형태와 실루엣으로 나타났으며 비의 미는 가벼운 소재와 투시 소재에 의한 비상의 이미지로 나타났다. 둘째, 본 연구의 작품에서는 철릭을 디자인 모티프로 하되 분리와 결합, 도치, 방향 전환, 위치 변경, 생략, 중첩의 방법으로 디자인한 결과 선적 조형미, 비움과 채움의 공간미, 여유의 미, 비의 미를 토대로 한 현대적 감성이 나타날 수 있었다. 셋째, 주름진 소재 여러 조각을 겹치며 반복 사용함으로써 풍성한 실루엣을 구성할 수 있었으며 레이어링의 역동적 율동미가 표현되었다. 넷째, 빈 공간과 주름 공간을 병치시킨 결과 흥미로운 공간미가 나타났다. 색채와 재질을 통일감 있게 사용한 경우는 극적 대립보다는 차분한 조화로움이 표현될 수 있었고 색채와 재질의 차를 크게 했을 경우 극적이며 특정 공간이 강조되는 효과가 있었다. 다섯째, 여유 있는 실루엣에 가벼운 흰색 소재의 새 깃털 같은 주름들이 부가적으로 겹쳐짐으로써 비의 미가 강조될 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 통해 본 연구는 한국적 조형미를 특정한 구성 방법을 적용해 독특하고 현대적인 패션디자인을 제시하였다는 점에 연구의 의 의가 있다. 이러한 실험적 연구를 통해 현대 패션디자인 작품에 대한 발전적 행보에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
