초록

영어

In Pansori, “Duneum” refers to a special tune or melody created by the traditional singer. It is estimated that “Duneum” was formed in the middle of the 18th century, when Pansori had grown to certain degree enough to create special-part-oriented partial performance. At the beginning of 19th century, “Duneum” was developed by many famous artists. A number of works were created. Among them, “Sugung music” by the late eight-myongchang Jeong Chun-Pung was revealed through Yuseonggi record of Kim Chang-Ryong. Later, the sound of the ancient form could be inferred from the “Sugung Music” through the polydor Simcheongjeon Book. The song is also known as the piece that is being performed up to this day by many great singers. The lyrics of “Sugung Music” consisted of six paragraphs: “Induction”, “Sinseon Ridge”, “Sugung Pungak”, “Sugung Scenery”, “Sugung Festival” and “End of End”. In terms of music, Kim Chang-Ryong utilized Gyemyeonjo and Ujo mode. Tone range was one-octave half in an intermediate part, with temporal five-degree Byeoncheong Gyemyeonjo. Breaking sound was replaced with C descending tone. Buchimsae were mainly Daemadi-Daejangdan. Cho Hak-Jin used the leaping melody on Gyemyeonjo mode frequently. Daemadi-Daejangdan, Yingeo-Geoli, Gyodaejuk were applied in Buchimsae aspect. The feature of “Sugung Music” could be summed up as follows: “Sugung Music” of Kim Chang-Ryong and Cho Hak-Jin were different with lyrics, melody and Buchimsae. The lyrics of Okeh record, Kim Yeon-Su, Jeong Kwon-Jin were downsized than Kim Chang-Ryong. In terms of music, Kim Yeon-Su used a one-octave half range, while Jeong used two-octave range with extension of lower tone range. The pattern of changes in melody and Buchimsae was similar in Okeh record and Kim Yeon-Su. However, Jeong composed dissimilar melody on same lyrics. Kim Yeon-Su employed Yingeo-Geoli frequently while Jung utilized Daemadi-Daejangdan a lot. Therefore, “Sugung Music” of Jeong Chun-Pung through Kim Chang-Ryong was different from Cho Hak-Jin in lyrics, beat and melody. In later years, Kim Yeon-Su and Jeong Kwon-Jin transformed the melody and Buchimsae of the lyric as well as adding and omitting parts. While various melodies and modes were used in Kim Chang-Ryong and Cho Hak-Jin, lyrics and musical expressions of Kim Yeon-Su and Jeong Kwon-Jin were brief but clear. This characteristic shows that Pansori lyrics have become more solidified and the melody has been generalized as time goes by.
