In this study, the changes of women's high jump in Korea are reviewed in the method of the event record history from 1929, when the first Korean record was established, to 2018, the present. The first Korean record of women's high jump was 1m20 made by Park Jeong-shin(Pyeongyang Girls' High School) at Joseon Women's Olympic Games in 1929. In 1940s, Jeong Im-sun(Ewha Girls' High School, Daegu) renewed highest records with 1m46, and the record stayed from 1948 to 1964 without change. In 1968, Gwon Shin-hye(Iri Girls' High School) renewed the record with 1m47. In 1960, the record higher than 1m50 was made by Kang Seon-ok(Ewha Girls' High School) with the record of 1m52, and in the mid-1970s, the record higher than 1m60 was made by Lee Ok-sun(Seongui Girls' High School, Gyeongmyeong Girls' High School) with the record of 1m65, In the late 1970s, the first record higher than 1m70 was made by Yoo Gyeong-hee(Chungbuk Bank), and the record became 1m75 by the competition of Shin Eun-seon(Sudo Girls' High School). From 1960 to 1990, Kim Hee-seon(Seoul Physical Education High School, Ewha Womans University, Kolon) achieved the most historic performance in the history of women's high jump by making the record enter 1m80 and 1m90 for the first time. She also took the third place at Asian Games in 1986, and took the 8th place at the final of Seoul Olympic Games in 1988, obtaining the best results in Korean track and field games except marathon. The record of women's high jump hasn't been broken for 29 years since Kim Hee-seon.

본 연구는 여자높이뛰기의 한국기록변천과정을 경기기록사 방법으로 첫 한국기록이 수립된 1929년부터 2018 년 현재까지 살펴보았다. 한국여자높이뛰기 첫 기록은 1929년 조선여자올림픽에서 박정신(평양여고)이 세운 1m20을 시작으로 발전했다. 1940년대에는 정임순(이화여고, 대구)이 1m46의 기록경신을 하였고 1948년부터 1964년까지 기록이 정체되다가 1963년에 권신혜(이리여고)가 1m47로 기록을 경신하였다. 1960년대에는 강선옥(이화여고)은 최초로 1m52를 기록하며 1m50대에 진입하였고 1970년 중반에는 이옥순(성의여상, 경명여고)이 1m65를 수립하며 1m60대에 진입시킨다. 1970년 후반에 유경희(충북은행)가 첫 1m70대에 진입시켰고 신은선(수도여고)이 기록경쟁 을 더하며 1m75까지 끌어올린다. 1980년부터 1990년까지 김희선(서울체고, 이화여대, 코오롱)은 한국여자 높이뛰 기 사상 역사적인 위업을 달성하는데 최초로 1m80과 1m90대에 진입시켰고, 1986년 아시안게임에서 3위와 1988년 서울올림픽 결승에서 8위를 기록하며 마라톤을 제외한 한국육상경기 사상 최고의 성적을 올리며 한국육상의 자존심을 지켰다. 이러한 여자높이뛰기의 기록발전은 김희선 이후 2019년 현재까지 29년간 기록이 깨지지 않고 있다. 이제 멈췄 던 기록을 속히 후배들이 경신해야 한다.
