Taekwondo has become a global martial art, which over 80 million people from 209 countries around the world train in. Not only is it an Olympic sport, but it’s an excellent sport to improve physical health and in terms of character education. There has recently been an increase in the number of disabled persons training in Taekwondo, as well as non-handicapped persons. This is because the paradigm of sports for the disabled is transitioning from a tool for treatment and rehabilitation to include not only personal health management, but also to for their participation in society, satisfaction of desires, and improvement of welfare levels. At such juncture, identifying the status of web accessibility for disabled Taekwondo practitioners is very meaningful. This is because the collection of necessary information through the internet is also important for the growing number of disabled Taekwondo practitioners. This study examined the status of web accessibility for member country websites provided on the World Taekwondo Federation’s homepage, and conducted a statistical analysis on this. In result, while there were some differences by continent, the average score was 76 points, showing that the overall web accessibility scores were generally mediocre. The results of this study should serve as basic data needed to improve web accessibility for disabled Taekwondo practitioners.

오늘날 태권도는 전 세계 209개국 8,000만여 명이 수련하는 세계적인 무도이며, 올림픽 스포츠로서 뿐만 아니 라 건강운동과 인성교육의 차원에서 매우 우수한 운동이다. 최근 들어 태권도를 배우는 대상이 비장애인에서 장애인에 게로 확대되고 있는 추세이다. 이는 장애인스포츠의 패러다임이 치료나 재활의 수단에서 개인의 건강관리뿐만 아니라 사회참여와 욕구충족, 복지수준 향상이라는 차원으로 전환되고 있기 때문이다. 이러한 시점에서 장애태권도인을 위한 웹 접근성 실태를 파악해보는 것은 매우 의미 있는 일이다. 왜냐하면 증가하는 장애태권도인들에게도 웹을 통해 필요한 정보 수집은 중요하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 세계태권도연맹 홈페이지에서 제공되는 회원국 홈페이지의 웹 접근성 실태를 파악해 보고 통계적인 분석을 실시해 보았다. 그 결과 대륙별로 약간의 차이는 있지만 평균 76점 정도로 나타나 전반적으로 웹 접근성 평가점수는 높지 않은 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 장애태권도인들을 위한 웹 접근성 향상에 필요한 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.
