The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between attachment to mother and father and peer competence of young children. To achieve this purpose, the following research questions were established. First, what relationship exist between attachment to mother and father and peer competence? Second, does relationship between attachment to mother and father and peer competence differ according to gender of young children? Third, what relationship exist between multiple attachment type and peer competence of young children? Fourth, does relationship between multiple attachment type and peer competence differ according to gender of young children? The participants of this research was 189 young children(5 year olds) from 3 child care centers and 2 kindergartens in Busan. Attachment Test for Children and Peer Competence Scale were administered to these children. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, Fisher's Z and Two-Way ANOVA. The findings of this research were as follows. First, attachment to mother and father were significantly related to prosociality factor of peer competence for 5 year old boys, however, attachment to mother and father were not significantly to peer competence for 5 year old girls. Second, relationship between multiple attachment to mother and father and peer competence of young children were significantly related to only prosociality factor of peer competence.

본 연구의 목적은 유아가 어머니와 아버지에 대해 형성하는 애착과 유아의 또 래유능성과의 관계를 알아보는 데 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음 과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 유아의 어머니 애착과 아버지 애착은 또래 유능성과 어떤 관계가 있는가? 둘째, 유아의 어머니 및 아버지 애착과 또래유능성 의관계는 유아의 성별에따라 차이가 있는가? 셋째, 유아의 어머니와 아버지에대 한 복합애착유형과 또래유능성은 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 넷째, 유아의 어머니와 아버지에 대한 복합애착유형과 또래유능성의 관계는 유아의 성별에 따라 차이가 있는가? 이 연구는 부산광역시에 소재하고 있는 어린이집 3곳과 유치원 2곳에 재 원하고 있는 만 5세 유아 189명(남아 101명: 여아 88명)을 대상으로 하였다. 이들 을 대상으로 아동용 애착검사, 교사 평정 또래유능성 검사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 평균차 검증, Fisher의 Z 검증 및 이원변량분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분 석 결과, 남아의 경우 어머니와 아버지에 대한 애착은 친사회성과 관련이 있었으 나, 여아의 경우 부모에 대한 애착과 또래유능성은 유의미한 관련이 없었다. 유아 의 부모에 대한 복합애착유형과 또래유능성과의 관계에서는 또래유능성 하위요인 중 친사회성에서만 통계적으로 유의미한 관련이 있었다.
