Kim Jung-Mi's Children lived in Gweonguiburi town and Duanwat Phimwana's Being Happy, as a novel with the foundation of realism, gave shape of the fact that human nature from the neighbors raising children discarded by their parents excels a blood relative. The purpose of this study is to explore human nature beyond a blood relative represented in these novels on the comparative viewpoint. In Children in Gweonguiburi town, Lee, Dong-Soo boards and lodges in a neighboring house with his younger brother, Lee, Dong-Joon. However, Dong-Soo with the painful memory discarded by his parents did not shake off distrust about people. He has the feeling of restriction and is seized with the fear that he might be discarded by Park, Young-ho who takes care of him. Park, Young-ho and the teacher, Kim, Myung-Hee have the responsibility to properly guide the children discarded by their parents. Dong-soo impressed by the warm-hearted human nature from them searches for the right way which can live honestly, facing up to the reality. In Being Happy, Kamphon boards and lodges in several neighboring houses. However, Kamphon who has blind spots with unsystematic care and many neighbors to take care of him came to recognize the reality that he has no home and is discarded by his parents, differently from his friends. So Kamphon passes the death crisis, trying to do his best to earn money and prepare a house to lives with his family. The people to give human nature while asking after the sick Kamphon is not his parents but his neighbors.

김중미의 『괭이부리말 아이들』과 태국 작가 드언왓 핌와나의 『너무나도행복한』은 현실주의에 바탕을 둔 소설로서 부모에게 버림받은 자식을 돌봐주는 이웃사람 들의 정이 혈연을 능가하는 점을 형상화하였다. 본고의 목적은 이 두 소설에서 드러나는 혈연을 뛰어넘는 정에 대해 비교의 관점에서 알아보는데 있다. 『괭이부리말』 아이들 에서 이동수는 남동생 동준이와 함께 고정된 한 이웃집에 서 숙식을 해결한다. 그러나 부모에게서 버림받은 아픔이 있는 동수는 사람에 대 한 불신을 떨쳐버리지 못하고 돌봐주는 박영호에게 또 다시 버림 받을까봐 두려워 하고 구속감도 느낀다. 박영호와 교사인 김명희는 부모에게 버림받은 아이들을 선 도하려는 소명의식이 있다. 이들의 헌신과 진심으로 베푸는 정에 감동한 동수는 자신의 현실을 직시하고 참되게 살 길을 찾는다. 『너무나도 행복한』에서 깜폰은 여러 이웃집을 전전하며 숙식을 해결한다. 그러나 깜폰을 돌봐주는 이웃이 너무 많고 체계적이지 않은데 따른 허점은 오히려 깜 폰으로 하여금 다른 동무들과 달리 자신은 집이 없고 부모에게 버림받은 현실을 인식하게 한다. 그래서 깜폰은 가족이 함께 살 집을 장만하려고 돈을 벌려 애쓰다 가죽을 고비를 넘긴다. 이런 깜폰을 문병하며 정을 주는 사람들은 깜폰의 부모가 아닌 이웃사람들이다.
