Eroticism as a principle of poetry writing in Cheong Hyun-Jong’s poetriesThe purpose of this study is to clarify that the eroticism in Cheong Hyun-Jong’s poetries have the same energy with the poetry from one source and also it have the common principles with poetry writing. In order to find this matters, this study reviews the following three points. First, the object of erotic expression or imagination in Cheong Hyun-Jong’s poetries is not the sexual desire of animal, but every things in nature to cause the vital energy comes from the instinct of life. Fresh chaos and raw vortex, the phrase of poem, show the energy of life when the human contacts the things and they also tell that the energy of eroticism is same with the one to bear the poetry. Second, both the poetry and the eroticism accelerate the fresh energy of life when the human contact the things, but they alsomake severe mental shake, violence and disorder. This paradoxical energy, the characteristics of eroticism, has the function to gives a shock to the peaceful mind in daily routine life or labor world and to breaks the rigid consciousness and the paralysis of sensitivity. Third, the energy of eroticism in Cheong Hyun-Jong’s poetries make the human existence get out of the feeling of isolation by the sense of unity with things in natures through the power of violence and abalone. So he can be changed to the continuous existence to all of the world. And also he may lose the ego as the human subject and be changed to universally extended existence. What Cheong Hyun-Jong’s poetries finally aim to achieve through the erotic imagination and expression is to recover the peculiar energy of instinct of life and to be the united existence with all the things in natures.

본 연구의 목적은 정현종의 시에 나타난 에로티시즘이 시와 같은 원천에서 나오는 힘이고 시작(詩作)과 공통적으로 작용하고 있는 원리라는 것을 밝히는 것이다. 정현종의 시에는 관능적인 표현과 상상력이 자주 나타나는데, 이들 시편에는 시가 생명본능에서 나오는 활기의 흐름이며 그것은 에로티시즘의 작용과 다르지 않다는 인식이 드러나 있다. 따라서 정현종의 시작 원리가 에로티시즘의 작용과 어떤 공통점이 있는지를 세 가지 측면에서 살펴보았다. 첫째는 정현종 시에서 에로티시즘의 대상은 동물적인 성적 욕망이나 성행위가 아니라 존재의 생명본능에서 나오는 활기를 일으키는 자연의 모든 사물이라는 점이다. “싱싱한 혼란”이나 “날 소용돌이” 등은 인간과 사물이 접촉할 때 일어나는 생명력이자 정현종의 시를 추동시키는 힘인데 이것은 에로티시즘의 작용과도 같다. 둘째는 시와 에로티시즘은, 인간과 사물이 접촉할 때, 존재의 생명력을 활성화시키지만 동시에 정신적 동요와 무질서, 혼란, 폭력을 일으킨다는 점이다. 이 모순적인 에너지는 대립되는 시박과 에로티시즘에 나타나는 공통적인 특징으로서, 일상적 세계, 노동의 세계의 평온한 상태에 충격을 가하여 굳어버린 의식이나 타성적인 사고, 감수성의 마비 등을 깨는 기능을 한다. 셋째는 정현종의 시에 내재된 에로티시즘의 힘이 폭력과 전복을 통해 존재가 고립감을 벗어나 사물이나 세계와 일체가 됨으로써 연속적인 존재로 변화시킨다는 점이다. 타자와 단절되어 고립감에 갇힌 존재는 자아가 상실됨으로써 사물과 일체가 되고 개체이면서 전체인 존재, 우주적으로 확장된 존재가 된다. 관능적 상상력과 표현을 통해 정현종의 시가 궁극적으로 도달하고자 하는 바는 존재의 고유한 생명력을 회복하고 자연과 사물, 그리고 죽음 너머의 세계와도 일체가 되는 존재의 변화를 이루는 것이며, 그 결과로 존재를 우주적으로 확장시켜 걸림 없는 자유에 이르는 것이다.
