This study analyzed the 40 papers published in academic journals in Korea from 2011 to October 2016 related to immigrant youth in order to get a comprehensive picture of multicultural youth literature. To examine the research trends on immigrant youth, the study analyzed the frequency of published papers by year and intended to identify the status of these publications depending on the research topic and method. The following were the analysis results: First, academic interest in the immigrant youth greatly increased from 2009 and research on them began actively from 2011. Second, a total of 40 papers were divided into 4 categories based on research topics that considered the characteristics of immigrant you: the individual aspect(5), the social aspect(20), the educational aspect(10), and the psychological aspect(5). Third, with regard to the research method, the number of qualitative studies considering immigrant youth’s level of Korean language skills was the highest with 20(50.0%), followed by 8 qualitative studies(20.0%), 5 literature review studies(12.5%), 4 experiment studies(10.0%), 2 integrated studies(5.0%), and 1 comparison study(2.5%). Based on these aforementioned analysis results, this study presented a direction for follow-up immigrant youth research in the future.

본 연구는 중도입국청소년과 관련된 문헌을 종합적으로 살펴보고자 2011년부터 2016년 10월까지 국내학술지에 수록된 중도입국청소년 관 련 논문 총 40편을 분석하였다. 중도입국청소년 관련 연구의 동향을 알 아보기 위해 먼저 연도별로 빈도를 분석하였고, 연구주제별, 연구방법 별로 발간현황을 파악하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중도입 국청소년에 대한 학계에서의 관심은 2009년을 기점으로 크게 증가하여 2011년도부터 본격적으로 연구되기 시작하였고, 2016년 10월까지 매년 마다 지속적으로 다양한 학문분야의 학술지에 게재되었다. 둘째, 총 40 편의 논문은 중도입국청소년의 특성이 고려된 개별 분석항목에 따라 4 가지 측면 즉, 「개인적 측면」(5편), 「사회적 측면」(20편), 「교육적 측면」(10편), 「심리적 측면」(5편)으로 분류되었다. 셋째, 연구방법별 분포를 살펴보면, 중도입국청소년의 한국어 수준을 고려한 질적연구가 20편(50.0%)로 가장 많았고, 양적연구가 8편(20.0%), 문헌연구가 5편 (12.5%), 실험연구가 4편(10.0%), 통합연구가 2편(5.0%), 비교연구가 1편 (2.5%)인 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 중 도입국청소년 관련 연구를 위한 후속 연구의 방향을 제시하였다.
