This Study aims to investigate the current status of immigrant youth of multicultural families including those of international second marriage family and foreign worker's family. Korean multicultural policy supports are overly weighted toward children from international marriage family. But the educational and career conditions for immigrant children who were born and raised in their native countries, are relatively poor. For this study, the researcher analysed the result of survey which was conducted by Rainbow Youth Center with 301 immigrant youth of multicultural family and foreign worker's family. The study found that immigrant youth are under acculturative stress and adapting problems at the new country. Based on the findings, was discussed policy implications and suggested some policy measures for supporting immigrant youth.

본 연구에서는 중도입국청소년이 한국에서 출생한 다문화가정 청소년과 비교하여 상대적으로 열악한 성장환경에 있음을 주목하여 한국생활 적응 과정에서 겪고 있는 어려움과 직면하고 있는 현안문제 등 실태를 파악하고, 이들에게 필요한 정책적 지원방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 무지개 청소년센터에서 2013년 중도입국청소년 301명을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사의 주요결과를 분석 자료로 활용하였다. 연구결과 중도입국청소년들은 새로운 사회와 성장환경에 적응하기 위해 다양한 스트레스와 문제에 직면하고 있으며 보다 세분화된 정책적 개입이 필요함을 밝혔다. 이러한 논의를 기초로 중도입국청소년을 실질적으로 지원 하기 위한 몇 가지 대안을 제시하였다.
