Today, converged talent with expertise and creativity is needed for changing environment and uncertainty. In response to such anachronistic demand, the Ministry of Education established multiple majors as a rule in 1999 with universities nationwide recruiting more than one department or department. However, as the system began 20 years ago, research on multiple majors is lacking. The majority of studies have been conducted on major subjects and the actual work on multiple majors or linked majors is limited. Therefore, this study was conducted with the objective of identifying the relationship between the determinants, the obstacles and the performance of multiple majors under the circumstances in which the importance of fostering converged human resources is highlighted today. A total of 205 samples were used to identify the relationship between six independent factors and the internal and external performance of multiple majors by dividing them into positive and negative factors in the determination of multiple majors. Research has shown that multiple major difference factors, such as multiple major obstacle factors, and discrimination and difficulty have all significant effects on performance except for discriminatory factors. On the contrary, reputation expectations, aptitude expectations, and job expectations had a significant impact on internal and external performance, respectively. These findings provide directions on how to eliminate and activate negative and positive factors in the selection of multiple majors in universities that run the system for fostering converged human resources.

오늘날 변화하는 환경과 불확실성에 필요한 인재로 전문성을 갖추면서도 창의성을 가진 융합형 인재가 요구되고 있다. 이러한 시대적 요구에 따라 교과부는 1999년부터 전국 대학들이 2개 이상 학과나 학부별로 신입생을 모집하는 것을 원칙으로 복수전공을 제도화하였다. 하지만 제도가 시작된 지 20년이 지나면서 복수전공에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 대다수의 연구들은 주전공을 대상으로 진행되어왔으며 복수전공이나 연계전공에 관한 실질적인 연구는 제한적이다. 따라서 본 연구는 오늘날 융합형 인재육성의 중요성이 부각되는 상황에서 복수전공의 결정요인과 장애요인 그리고 성과에 대한 관계 규명을 목적으로 실증적 연구를 진행하였다. 총 205개의 표본을 이용하여 복수전공 결정에 있어 긍정적 요인과 부정적 요인으로 구분하여 총 6개의 독립요인과 복수전공의 내적 그리고 외적성과와의 관계를 규명하였다. 연구결과 내적성과에 복수전공 장애요인인 복수전공 차이부재, 차별, 난이도는 차별적요인을 제외하고는 성과에 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 반대로 긍정적인 요인에서는 평판기대, 적성기대, 그리고 직업기대가 내적성과와 외적성과 그리고 외적성과에 각각 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구결과는 융합형 인재육성에 있어서 제도적으로 복수전공제도를 운영하는 대학에서 복수전공선택에 있어 부정적 요인과 긍정적 요인을 어떻게 제거하고 또 활성화하여 성공적인 융합형 인재 육성제도를 갖춰야할지 방향성을 제공한다.
