The Nasality has been studied mainly the correlation between acoustic couping and perceptive evaluation by the clinicians. Nasometer is generally used to assess the nasality in term of nasalance and it is wide applying to cross-language studies. The aim of this study is to find the nasalance score difference between Philipinese bilingual Tagalog and korean speakers and Korean native speakers. 8 philipinese females and 8 Korean females participated to the experiment. Speech samples are 5 korean oral vowels and 3 diphthongs. The results are as follows: (1) The nasalance score of all the vowels and the diphthongs of Tagalog speakers are higher than those of Korean native speakers. The highest nasalance score among the 5 vowels is the high vowel /i/ for the Tagalog speakers and Korean native speakers all together. However, the lowest nasalance scores are not lower vowels. (2) Over all the nasalance scores of oral vowels and diphthongs of Tagalog speakers are 1.5 times greater than those of korean native speakers. (3) The characteristics of Nasogram of Tagalog speakers shows the discontinuous graph between semi-vowel /j/ and following vowels in comparison with the continuous graph for Korean native speakers. It suggests that the stoppage of nasogram between /j/ and following vowels is the phenomenon of Tagalog intervention for Korean language.
