Korean Language Textbook Development for Communicative Competence of Married Female Immigrants Living in the Rural Areas.

Multiculturalism in Korea is mainly classified by two social groups: the city labour group and the rural residents group. The aim of this study is to develop a Korean language textbook for married female immigrants living in the countryside based on agricultural society in Korea. The textbook contains basic vocabulary, pronunciation skills, conversation including listening comprehension activities, and drills for language use. The basic vocabulary contains the dialect, and pictograms are recommended for the beginners. Pronunciation practice is systematized according to the place and manner of articulation. Practical Korean is composed of using conversational drills. All of these contents in the Korean textbook should be systematically complied for the purpose of improving better communication between married female immigrants and their families.
