Food trade has increased rapidly through the Mega FTA, resulting in frequent food safety accidents. As a result, consumers' demands for eco-friendly foods has increased internationally or domestically. As GMO food spread widely, GMO food labeling alone makes it difficult to distinguish GMO food from non-GMO food, so there is still concern about GMO safety. In particular, there is a possibility of trade disputes, given the attitude and approach to GMO food regulation in each country. Currently, there is no internationally norms for GMO food, mutual support between multilateral environmental agreements and WTO agreements on GMO food should be promoted and international legal integration enhanced.
