This study examines the relationship between knowledge learning, institutional characteristics and performance of global companies that have entered ASEAN. In addition, a comparative analysis was conducted between the BIG5(Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia) countries and CLM(Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos). Based on these existing studies, seven hypotheses were set up including moderating effects of institutional characteristics and multi-group analysis. Collected 195 samples in born globals was carried out by the empirical analysis based on structural equation modeling. As a result of the analysis, the relationship between external knowledge characteristics, knowledge codification capability and performance were significant. In the moderating effects, only the relationship between the institutional characteristics and the knowledge codification capability showed significant result. In comparison between the BIG5 and CLM countries, there were significant differences in the relationship between external knowledge novelty and knowledge codification capability, knowledge codification capability and performance.

본 연구는 아세안(ASEAN) 진출 본글로벌기업의 지식학습, 제도특성과 성과의 관계를 살펴보았다. 또한, 실증분석 과정에 아세안 내 주요 5개국(필리핀, 태국, 베트남, 말레이 시아, 인도네시아)과 신흥 3개국(캄보디아, 라오스, 미얀마) 간의 비교분석을 시행하였다. 본글로벌기업은 창업 직후 해외시장에 진출하는 경향이 있다. 제도기반관점은 국가별 제도특성이 기업 행위에 영향을 준다고 보았다. 이러한 기존 연구를 기반으로 제도기반 특성의 조절효과와 다중집단 분석 가설을 포함하여 7개의 가설을 설정하였다. 한국 본글 로벌기업에 대한 195개의 표본을 수집하여 구조방정식모형을 활용한 실증분석을 진행하 였다. 분석결과 외부지식특성, 지식부호화역량, 기업성과의 관계가 유의한 것으로 나타났 다. 조절효과에서는 제도특성과 지식부호화역량의 관계만이 유의한 결과를 보였다. 빅5 와 CLM 국가 간 비교에서는 외부지식혁신성과 지식부호화역량의 관계 그리고 지식부호 화역량과 기업성과의 경로에서 유의한 차이를 확인하였다. 분석결과를 기반으로 시사점 을 논의한 후 연구한계와 앞으로 연구방향을 제시하였다.
