Nowadays, ethics of business field becomes more important. The cases of severe abuse of power committed by CEO or CEO family and many illegal recruitment in public and private companies have continuously happened in Korea. Therefore, ethical leadership of CEO has been paid much attention to in Korea. The purpose of this study is to analyze Jong Kyu Park’s leadership from ethical leadership point of view. He has been a founder and CEO of KSS Line Ltd. which is a distribution company specializing in energy transportation. His leadership was analyzed on the basis of five ethical leadership principles (respecting others, serving others, being just, being honest, building community) was given by Northouse(2007). In addition, His unique management style was transparent management with no slogan policy, no social connection, no rebate, no smugglery, and no accounting fraud. His leadership was compared with that of Dr. Yoo Il-Han whom Park has been respectful for from in university.

오늘날 기업의 윤리는 더욱 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 최근 경영자 또는 기업총수의 일가에 의한 심각한 갑질행태와 공기업 및 민간 기업에서 잇따른 채용비리 사건들이 드러 나고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 경영자의 윤리적 리더십은 더욱 주목을 받게 된다. 본 연구는 ㈜KSS 해운의 설립자인 박종규 회장의 리더십을 윤리적 리더십 관점에서 분석하고자 하였다. Northouse (2007)가 제시한 윤리적 리더십의 5가지 원칙(타인에 대한 존중, 타인에 대한 봉사, 공정성, 정직함, 공동체 구축 등)에 근거하여 분석하였다. 또한 박종규 회장은 경영을 매우 투명하게 하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 박종규 회장 나름의 특유의 경영 방식을 도입하였는데, 여기에는 형식적인 사시 또는 사훈의 배제, 인맥의 배제, 리베이트 의 배제, 밀수의 근절, 분식회계의 배제 등이 포함되었다. 박종규 회장이 흠모했던 유일한 박사의 리더십과도 비교하였다.
