The Purpose of the this study was to examine the effect of stress of dance gifted students on dance commitment and burnout. The subjects of this study were 236 Korean dance and Western dance students in five arts junior high school in Seoul Gyeonggi pronvince and measured the stress, dance commitment, and burnout. The collected data were analyzed by factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Ver. 18.0. The following conclusions were obtained. First, the stress of dance gifted students shows significant influence on dance commitment. The burden of competition among the sub - factors of stress appeared both cognitive flow and behavioral flow. Second, stress of dance gifted students shows significant influence on burnout. The stress of the sub - factors of stress showed the reduced personal accomplishment, depersonalization, performance degradation and emotional exhaustion. Third, dance commitment of dance gifted students shows significant influence on burnout.

본 연구의 목적은 예술중학교 무용전공생들의 스트레스가 무용몰입과 탈진에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보 고자 하였다. 연구의 대상은 서울 경기지역 4개 예술중학교 무용 전공생 138명이었으며, 스트레스, 무용몰입, 탈진을 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Ver.18.0을 이용하여 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석 및 다중회 귀분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 스트레스는 무용몰입에 유의한 영향력을 나타내고 있다. 스트 레스 하위요인 중 시합의 부담은 인지몰입과 행위몰입 모두 나타났다. 둘째, 스트레스는 탈진에 유의한 영향력 을 나타내고 있다. 셋째, 무용몰입은 탈진에 유의한 영향력을 나타내고 있다. 즉, 예술중학교 무용전공생들의 스트레스는 부정적 심리적 요인인 탈진 뿐 만 아니라 긍정적 요인인 무용몰입에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나 타났다. 따라서 본 연구를 시작으로 무용영재를 대상으로 하는 스트레스 관련 연구가 활성화되어야 하며, 스트 레스를 극복할 수 있는 심리적인 대처 전략과 심리기술이 마련되어 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 사회적 지지 와 노력이 필요하다.
