According to ‘『說文解字(shuōwénjiězì)』’, ‘營(yíng)’ stands for ‘从宮, 熒省聲’, ‘宮(gōng)’ represents ‘house’, ‘熒(yíng)’ signifies ‘light’ and ‘魂(hún)’ is a letter which the spirit of the deceased being changed into an elf-fire goes up to the sky. Thinking of the order of forming Chinese Characters, we guess that ‘鬼(guǐ)’ which portrays ‘head [甶] & leg[儿] of ghost’ can be formed at first, then ‘魄(pò)’ which means ‘he body of ghost’ can be seen clearly with our eyes. Finally, ‘魂(hún)’ can be formed, supposing that ‘A ghost has a spirit just as a living creature has a life,’ as the ability of cognition develops. Before forming the letter ‘魂(hún)’, ‘營(yíng)’ meaning a kind of house where its image shines around the tomb substitutes the word ‘魂(hún)’. Gradually, ‘魂(hún)’, a similar type of ‘魄(pò)’ can be existed such as the relationship between ‘鳳 凰(fènghuáng)’ and ‘娑婆(suōpó)’ Besides, ‘營(yíng)’ and ‘魂(hún)’ is the same original letter, ‘營(yíng)’ must be understood ‘魂(hún)’ in the chapter 2 ‘載營魄抱一’ of ‘『道德經([Dàodéjīng)』’.
