This research analyzed the cause of Korean Air's crash in Guam killed 228 people and “nut rage” incident in terms of Korean background culture, organizational culture, organizational communication, and cockpit communication. These tragedy and incident were caused by Confucianism, noon-chi, che-myon, and an authoritarian/collectivist communication system. Given that a corporate culture influences not only the relationship between management and employees but also the relationship among employees, a participative culture is needed at all levels of Korean Air as well as Korean corporations.
