As the shape of the future warfare and war environment are being changed consistently, the importance of drone technology is getting bigger and bigger as it can minimize the loss of life and replace dangerous missions that are once done by living human With the capability to replace humans being deployed to dangerous mission sites, drone is a futuristic unmanned combat system that offers surveilance & reconnaissance, combat, signal, NBC recon&detection, supply transportation and many other different military functions. Furthermore, minimizing human loss in different conflict and situation should be the core consideration in the sense of preparing the war. Which logically leads to the necessity of replacing humans with drones in regards to preventing and minimizing the human loss. In the modern world, as the science technology is developing rapidly, the paradigm of the war is basically moving to information war and firepower concentration. Nowadays we can send enemy target locations to the command in live time and commanders can make decision to shoot in less than few minutes. Very recently precision-guided weapons’ long-range attack ability has been improved so we can win the war minimizing our damage by focusing on attacking the enemy in depth. With it’s survivability, utility, stability and cost-effectiveness, drones can execute wide range of military missions. However the drones can cause mass collateral damage if it falls to the ground or be hacked by the enemies. Also we need to designate detailed air space for unmanned aircraft and manned aircraft so as to remove unnecessary restrictions for employing drones.

미래전 양상과 미래 전장환경 변화에 따라 전쟁에서 인명손실을 최소화하고 전투의 효율 성을 높일 수 있는 드론의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 드론은 전투요원들이 직접 수행해야 할 위험한 작전들을 대신할 수 있는 미래의 무인전투체계로써 감시 및 정찰, 전투, 통신, 화생 방 정찰 및 탐지, 보급품 수송 등 군사적으로 다양하게 활용할 수 있다. 또한, 다양한 안보상황 하에서 인명피해를 최소화하는 것은 전쟁을 대비하고 준비하는 측 면에서 가장 핵심적인 고려사항일 것이다. 따라서 미래에는 인명피해를 최소화하기 위해서 무엇보다도 이를 대체할 수 있는 다른 무기체계인 드론의 필요성이 많이 필요해질 것이다. 그리고, 최근 과학기술이 급속히 발전함에 따라 전쟁의 패러다임이 근본적으로 정보전 및 화력집중으로 변화되고 있다. 적의 표적관련 정보를 실시간으로 전송하여 지휘관의 지휘결 심을 수 분 내에 처리할 수 있게 되었다. 최근에는 정밀유도무기의 원거리 정밀타격 능력의 향상으로 적의 종심을 집중적으로 공격하여 아군의 피해를 최소화하며 승리를 확보하게 되 었다. 드론은 생존성, 운용성, 안정성 측면에서 활용가치가 높고, 비용 대 효과도 높아 군사적 작전에서 다양한 임무를 수행할 수 있다. 그러나 드론의 추락으로 인한 대량 피해가 발생할 수 있으며, 드론은 해킹에 매우 취약하다. 또한, 향후에 드론과 유인항공기가 운용될 수 있 는 공역을 구분하고 세부적인 공역통제 구역을 설정하여 드론을 활용하는데 제한사항이 없 도록 하는 제도적인 보완 측면이 필요하다.
