The purpose of this study is to examining the effectiveness of instructional consultation to professor’s teaching skills improvement by 25 case analysis on instructional consultation in a university. The researcher have conducted instructional consultation to twenty five professors at D university in 2014 to 2015. As theoretical background, criteria of evaluation on the process and result of instructional consultation are suggested. The researcher have categorized instructional problems which appeared in twenty five professors’ class by using instruction analysis tools. As the result of this study, major problems of instruction of twenty five professors were lack of students’ involvement in class, lack of communication between students and professors, low learning motivation of students, and depressed atmosphere of instruction is included. The researcher have found that the most changeable variables which can make difference in short-period is giving brief summary to students before the end of instruction.

본 연구의 목적은 컨설턴트 입장에서 대학 수업컨설팅의 과정을 평가하여 수업컨설팅이 효과적으로 이루어졌는지를 점검하고, 수업컨설팅의 결과를 평가하여 컨설티의 교수방법이 어떻게 개선되었는지 확인하는 것이다. 연구자는 B광역시에 소재한 D대학교에서 2014년과 2015년 2년간 교수능력 향상 프로그램에 참여한 교수 25명을 연구대상으로 하여 수업을 관찰하고 다양한 자료를 수집하고 분석하여 수업컨설팅을 실시하였다. 관련 선행 연구를 토대로 교수들의 수업의 문제를 파악하고, 개선 방안을 적절하게 제안했는가를 살펴보았다. 교수들은 수업참여, 상호작용, 학습동기 유발, 수업분위기 형성, 집중도 향상 등에 대해 고민했고, 컨설턴트의 수업 분석에 의하면 수업참여 부족, 상호작용 부족, 낮은 학습동기, 정적인 수업분위기 등이 주된 수업문제로 파악되었다. 이러한 주된 수업문제들이 상호간에 어떤 관계인지를 명확히 밝혀내고 근본적인 이슈를 분석해낼 수 있어야 수업컨설턴트로서의 전문성을 확보할 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 각 대학 및 학과 또는 개별 교수들이 처한 상황은 매우 다양하므로 컨설턴트가 각각의 상황에 맞는 개선안을 제안할 수 있기 위해서는 수업에 대한 통찰 능력이 필요하다. 단순한 교수기술의 개선이 아닌 교수자의 성찰을 지원하는 수업컨설팅으로의 변화가 요청된다.
