This study focused on Choi Ja's viewpoints of Lee Gyu-bo and his works that he discussed in many parts of his Bohanjip. He figured out Lee's Chinese poems according to Sinui(新意) and Ilgi(逸氣). In the first and middle volume of Bohanjip, Choi mentioned Lee's Chinese poems mostly about the content of creating Sinui. He tried to show "Sinui" that Lee sought after in terms of content through his specific works. In his Bohanjip, Choi analyzed Lee's Yeongmul and Yeongsa poems because viewpoints and topics could vary even for the same object according to different places of intention. He also focused on the way that Lee planned and wrote sentences(Seolmun[設文]) as Lee presented his arguments clearly based on simple coined words rather than deliberate selections. He emphasized that Lee tried to present the topics that he raised based on his learning and experiences he cultivated and acquired throughout his life in a mature language. This indicates that a poet should form the right mind plan(Ipui) of looking at objects in a new viewpoint in order to approach "Sinui" and eventually establish his or her own spirit. Choi also tried to figure out Lee's poetry through Ilgi at the aesthetic level. As far as Choi was concerned, Lee's marvelous energy(Ilgi) lied in the way that he revealed what was behind the forms of visible natural objects in a profound manner and created endless lingering imagery in his poems accordingly. He also relatively highlighted Ilgi through Yeongu that was in Jeokgu in his poems. By saying that "His spirit is alive(Gisaeng[氣生])," Choi tried to show Lee's attitude of focusing on and being fascinated with objects(things) to reveal his spirit inside him. That is, the driving force behind this was the harmony of Lee's innate brilliance, acquired learning, and experiences throughout his life.

본고는 『보한집』에서 많은 부분을 할애하여 논의하고 있는 이규보 한시를 ‘新意’와 ‘逸氣’로 구분하여 파악하고, 그 구현양상에 대해서 구체적인 작품을 통하여 논의하고자 하였다. 최자는 『보한집』 상권과 중권에서 이규보 한시를 수록하면서 新意를 創出하는 것과 관련된 내용을 언급하고 있다. 최자는 이규보가 추구한 ‘신의’의 구현양상을 구체적인 작품을 통하여 보여주고자 하였다. 특히 『보한집』에서는 이규보의 영물시와 영사시를 분석의 대상으로 삼고 있는데, 이것은 같은 대상으로 시로 쓴다고 하더라도 立意[構想]에 따라서 바라보는 시선과 주제가 달라지기 때문이다. 이후에 문장을 계획하고 짓는[設文] 방식에 있어서 전고를 사용하기 보다는 평이한 造語를 바탕으로 자신의 立意을 명확히 드러내고 있다는 점에도 주목하였다. 최자는 이규보가 일생동안 연마하고 체득한 학문과 경험을 바탕으로 立意한 주제를 圓熟한 언어로 드러내려고 노력했음을 강조한 것이다. 이를 통해서 볼 때, 시인이 대상을 새로운 시선으로 바라보는 마음의 구상[立意]을 제대로 형용해야 ‘新意’에 다가서게 되고, 최종적으로 자신만의 氣骨을 형성하게 된다는 점을 확인하게 된다. 최자는 『보한집』에서 이규보의 뛰어난 氣韻[逸氣]에 대하여 주목하고 있다. 최자가 바라보는 이규보의 뛰어난 氣韻[逸氣]은, 평범한 시어로 눈에 보이는 경물의 형용을 넘어서 그 이면에 담겨진 내용을 깊이 있게 드러내어 끝없는 여운을 만들어 내는 것에 있음을 짐작할 수 있다. 또한 그의 시에서 摘句한 聯句를 통하여, 각각의 정황과 분위기를 심미적으로 드러낼 수 있는, 이규보의 逸氣를 상대적으로 부각시키고 있다. 이러한 詩句를 감상했을 때 결과적으로 實景에서 虛景을 볼 수 있어야 한다는 점이다.
