This study was conducted with 462 students who are attending piano institutes in Seoul and Kyunggi Province. Type 1 has the tendency to play mechanically, so the instructor should lead them to make a whole phrase. Type 2 has sensitivity within themselves, so it is important to explain them the feeing of the music, so the student can enjoy it by him/herself. Teacher should help type 3 students relax a bit by having light conversations and stretching to ease the stress of the mind and the body. It is helpful to stimulate and mobilize creativity with type 4 students. Type 5 students need reasonable explanation, and teachers need to have some patience and find a way to stimulate their intellectual desire. With type 6 students, teachers should act in consistent and trustful way, and remind and prepare them of sudden changes to not confuse them. Teachers should let type 7 students to choose their own piece to play, and since their concentration os short, it is helpful to have short lessons many times. Type 8 prefers duo pieces which a friend or a teacher can play with them, and with type 9 students, it is helpful to make a practice habit from early stage of learning.

본 연구는 피아노 학원에 다니는 서울과 경기도(수지, 강화, 광주, 성남) 462명의 학생들을 대상으로 피아노를 배우는 학생들의 에니어그램 성격 유형에 따른 지도방안에 대해 연구하였다. 각 유형별 지도방안은 1유형은 기계적으로 치는 경향이 많기 때문에 교사는 전체적인 프레이즈를 이룰 수 있도록 이끌어주어야 할 것이고, 2유형은 내재되어 있는 감수성을 이용해 곡의 느낌을 설명하면서 스스로가 음악을 즐기도록 도와주는 것, 3유형은 레슨 전에 몸과 마음의 긴장을 풀도록 가벼운 대화나 스트레칭으로 도와주도록 하고, 4유형은 풍부한 상상력을 동원하도록 하는 것, 5유형은 논리적으로 설명해주되 인내심을 가지고 지적 욕구를 자극시키는 레슨 방법을 선택, 6유형에게 교사는 일관되고 신뢰감 있게 행동해야하며, 7유형은 좋아하는 노래를 선택하게 해주고, 집중력이 짧기 때문에 레슨은 짧게 여러 번 하는 것, 8유형은 친구나 교사와 같이 칠 수 있는 듀오곡을 주는 지도방법, 9유형은 연습의 습관화를 미리 들이는 것이 효과적인 지도방법으로 나타났다.
