The purpose of this study is to explore the life of elementary school teachers who are from student athletes through self-cultural technology methods. The researcher of this study is both a research participant and a researcher. To do this, we collected data based on the participants' memory data, self-reflection data, participatory observation data, interview data, class diary, and related documents. The data analysis was conducted by Scradley (1979). The result was that the researcher was a student athlete, but he was able to become an elementary school teacher because there was a special admission system for physical education specialists at G Education University. Second, the curriculum of the teacher formation of a student athlete who became an elementary school teacher was classified as ‘starting as an elite player’, ‘transferring from an elite player to a student player’, ‘special selection of a G education specialist’, and ‘living as an elementary school teacher from a student athlete’. In the end, the researcher recognized that the G Education University should reevaluate the “special selection system for physical education specialists”, which was a special admission for student athletes who had been well trained and studied as part of the revitalization of elementary sports.

이 연구는 초등교사가 된 과거 학생선수였던 “나”에 관한 삶을 자문화기술지를 통해 되짚어봄으로써 공부하는 학생선수들에게 필요한 진로탐색의 방향성과 시사점을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 “나”의 자기성찰, 회상, 사 진자료, 참여관찰 및 수업일지 등을 토대로 자료를 수집하였고, 자료 분석은 Spradley(1979)가 사용한 영역 및 분류 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, “나”는 운동선수였으나 초등교사가 될 수 있었던 것은 G 교육대학교에서 시행한 체육특기자 특별전형제도가 있었기 때문이다. 둘째, 초등교사가 된 “나”의 삶에 대한 범주화는 ‘운동선수로서의 시작’, ‘진로전환의 계기’, ‘학생선수출신 예비교사의 교대 적응기’, ‘학생선수출신 초등교사로서의 삶’ 으로 나타났다. 위 내용을 종합해 볼 때 지난 과거에 G교육대학교가 시행했던 체육특기자 특별전형제도의 장단점을 거 울삼아, 공부도 잘하고 운동도 잘하는 학생선수들이 초등체육발전에 이바지 할 수 있는 다양한 정책적 제도에 대해 공론 화할 필요가 있다.
