The purpose of this study is to understand the meaning and contradiction of life that school soccer players have used as a professional athlete by using narrative method. For this purpose, Y high school soccer player located in D metropolitan city was selected as a research participant using deterministic case sampling method. The data were collected through in-depth interviews and the collected data were analyzed through domain analysis and taxonomic analysis. Through Kyu-hyun's opinion, I was able to understand the meaning, contradiction, and improvement of school soccer players' life as a professional athlete. The agonizing of the lives of school soccer players is largely divided into two types. The first is the difference in the way of running the student's athlete, and the second is the half of the educational structure against the student athlete. In order to improve the lives of relatively isolated school soccer players, if they can not get into club soccer, they have to compensate for the player's supply and demand system for youth soccer, which is divided into classrooms from the beginning. Also, it is necessary to change the socio-cultural atmosphere which is perceived as a soccer player who does not understand a soccer player as a student player.

이 연구의 목적은 내러티브 방법을 활용하여 학원축구 선수들이 전문체육 선수로 살아온, 살아가야 될 삶의 의미 와 모순을 이해하는데 있다. 이를 위해 결정적사례표집법을 활용하여 D광역시에 위치하고 있는 Y고등학교 학원축구 선 수를 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 자료는 심층면담으로 수집하였고, 수집된 자료는 영역분석(domain analysis)과 분류 분석(taxonomic analysis)으로 분석하였다. 연구 참여자인 규현의 소회(所懷)를 통해 학원축구 선수들이 전문체육 선 수로 살아가는 삶의 의미와 모순, 그리고 개선점을 이해할 수 있었다. 학원축구 선수들의 삶의 고뇌는 크게 두 가지의 원인이 있었는데, 그것의 첫 번째는 학생선수 운영방식의 차이였으며, 두 번째는 학생선수에 대한 교육구조 내 반감이었 다. 결국, 상대적으로 소외되어 있는 학원축구 선수들의 삶을 개선하기 위해서는 클럽축구에 진입하지 못하면 학원축구 로 전환하는, 어찌 보면 시작부터 급(級)이 나뉘어 있는 유소년축구의 선수수급 시스템을 보완해야 한다. 또한 축구선수 를 학생선수로 이해하지 않고, 축구만 하는 운동선수로 인식하는 그릇된 사회문화적 분위기의 전환도 필요하다.
