The RiGi Theory of Yuguk Yi I is concerned Rigizimyu, Gibarisung, Etonggikuk. and focused on three theory. The purpose of this paper is to compare the aspects developed by the Kiho School with those studied by the Youngnam School for The Etonggikuk of the three above theories. First, we will look at the characteristics of Yulgok's egotism, and then we will analyze how it was developed in this school of Kiho and the school of Youngnam. The phenomenon of the kiho shoool is explored by Kim Jang-saeng, a former disciple, and Uam, Song Si-yeol, and how the Inmusungdongyinonjang, which took place between the writers of Suam Kwon Sang-ha, goes through the process of change. Then It will discuss the Etonggikuk, which will be studied by the Youngnam School. First of all, we will study the lyrical organs of Galam Lee Hyun-il and Udam Jeong-han who lived in the same era. It will look at how he explored the Etonggikuk through Hanju Lee Jin-sang, who maintained his own unique sexuality system. The Kiho school, who inherited Yulgok, were mainly based on his acceptance or critical succession about the Etonggikuk. On the other hand, the Youngnam School, which was influenced by the Toegye, took a negative stance against the school itself and denied the need. The development of Kiho school is as follows. The immediate disciples succeeded in accepting this. Since then, the latter schools have expanded their meaning by interpreting different things. On the other hand, the Youngnam School didn't mean in the Etonggikuk of Yulgok and Used in a different sense. They didn't condone it. Although the Etonggikuk of Yulgok is the best part of his thought, The development is very different from the Kiho and the Youngnam School.

율곡 이이의 이기론은 이와 기의 관계성에 따라 이기지묘(理氣之妙), 기발이승(氣發理 乘), 리통기국(理通氣局)으로 집약될 수 있다. 본 논문은 위의 3가지 이론 중 하나인 리통기국에 대해 기호학파에서 전개된 양상과 영남학파에서 연구된 양상을 비교하는 데 그목적을 두고 있다. 이에 먼저 율곡 이기론의 특징을 살펴보는 것을 시작으로 리통기국이기호학파와 영남학파에서 각각 어떤 양상으로 전개되었는지를 비교 분석하는 과정으로진행하게 된다. 기호학파의 양상은 직전제자인 사계 김장생를 비롯해 우암 송시열에서나타난 형태를 살핀 후 수암 권상하 문인들 사이에서 벌어진 인물성동이논쟁에서 리통기국이 어떤 변화 과정을 거치는지를 탐구한다. 이어 영남학파에서 연구되어지는 리통기국에 대한 논의를 전개한다. 먼저 동시대를 살았던 갈암 이현일과 우담 정시한이 생각한 리통기국에 대해 연구하고 자신만의 독특한 성리학 체계를 유지했던 한주 이진상를 통해어떻게 탐구했는지 여부를 살핀다. 율곡학을 계승했던 기호학파는 주로 리통기국을 수용 또는 계승의 측면이 강했다면 퇴계의 영향을 받은 영남학파는 그 자체에 대해 반대적비판 입장을 취하면서 그 필요성 자체에 대해서도 부정하기도 했다. 기호학파는 그 전개양상이 직전 및 제전제자들은 이를 수용, 계승하려 한 반면 이후 후학들은 리통기국에 대해 해석을 달리하며 그 의미를 확충해 나갔다. 반면 영남학파는 리통기국에 대해 아예 의미 없다고 밝히며 부정한 것은 물론 그 용어를 변용하여 완전히 다른 의미로 사용하는 등율곡비판의 한 부분으로 간주하면서 그 의미 자체를 용납하지 않기도 했다. 율곡의 리통기국 철학은 그의 사상에서 백미라 할 수 있지만 그 전개양상은 기호학파와 영남학파에서 각기 다른 양상으로 전개되었다.
