This thesis analyzed the Situation and Issues of the Korean Folk Tales Research by modern Japan. A related study was successive after 1990 's, but there were few substance-like studies of Japanese in Chosen. As the fairy-tail collection which is the Government-General of Chosen in a compensation, abstract, it has been studied. A positive study is proceeded with recently, but the various argument which made the book the center is developing. First a series including the material found newly was issued. So it's relevant at present, material, you could touch now easily. And a main Japanese's Folk tails collections is translated successively. A related outcome in the modern early stage when a study note about a story, a facsimile edition and a translation book in modern Japan were issued as well as issued by Korean and European language is studied. The former study has studied a book in the center, but I have to study overall including the material recorded in a newspaper and a magazine now. A writer took up a story “Three-year Hill” and considered critically actually. I'm insisting that “Three-year Hill” was announced to Tajima's “Ondol evening chat” (1923) of the Government-General of Chosen for the first time by the preceding study. But Takagi (1917) and Higuchi (1922) announced “Three-year Hill” already. Takagi referred to Shimizu’s “Chosen Folk-tails” (“Shonen Sekai” 1913) and made the fact clear.

본고에서는 근대 일본의 구비문학 관련 연구 성과 중에서 가장 연구가 왕성한 설화연구의 현황과 그 과제를 검토하였다. 1990년대 이후 관련 연구가 진행되었 지만, 재조일본인의 개별적이고 실체적인 연구보다는, 조선총독부의 동화집이라는 추상적인 집합체로 연구되었다. 최근 실증적인 연구가 진행되었고, 단행본을 포함한 다양한 논의가 전개되었다. 새로운 발굴 자료를 포함한 총서가 간행되어 해당 자료를 쉽게 접할 수 있게 되었고, 주요 일본어 조선설화집이 잇따라 번역되 면서 다양한 연구가 지속되고 있다. 근대일본의 설화연구서, 영인본, 번역본이 간행됨과 동시에 국문, 서구어로 전개된 근대 초기의 연구 성과가 분석되었지만, 앞으로 다양한 분야의 관련 연구를 활용하며 내용을 심화할 필요성이 요청된다. 지금까지 단행본을 중심으로 한 연구 를 넘어서, 신문과 잡지에 수록된 자료를 종합적으로 발굴․검토할 필요성이 있다. 실제로 새로운 자료와 접근 방식을 통한 방향성을 제시하기 위해, 삼년고개 설화 연구를 비판적으로 검토하였다. 선행연구에서는 조선총독부 직원 다지마 야스히데의 『온돌야화』(1923)에 처음으로 「삼년고개」가 수록되었고, 다지마 및 조선총독부의 의도적 개작 가능성을 지적했지만, 이미 다카기 도시오(高木敏雄, 1917)와 히구치 고요(樋口紅陽, 1922)의 자료집에 「삼년고개」가 수록되었다. 조선에 체류한 적이 없는 다카기 등 은 잡지 『소년세계(少年世界)』(1913)에 수록된 시미즈의 「조선 옛이야기」에 소개된 「삼년고개」를 참고해, 「삼년고개」가 수록되었음을 명백히 하였다.
