In modern society, various cultures and ideas are exchanged actively around the world, and culture and art are being exchanged smoothly between the East and the West. It is a trend showing an active attitude to convey the history and culture of the countries to the whole world. Due to these influences, the interest and interest of many artists has been heightened in Korea, and it has become a global traditional culture unlike the past. Among the traditional culture, the folk paintings are giving us infinite inspiration, so they act appropriately as materials that can come into contact with various and original designs. Traditional folk paintings reflect the history of the times and their ancestors life and philosophy are embedded in the culture, expressing their unique tradition and symbolism. Folk paintings are spreading to the roots of ethnicity with the aesthetic expressions that add to ideas, beliefs, emotions, customs, living beauty and human beauty through the fruits of our national culture. Therefore, developing and studying the characteristics of traditional folk paintings can lead to huge design ideas and new fields. The purpose of this study is to show the development of unique hair art design by combining recycled hair with hair art based on the formative and symbolic character of the folk paintings through theoretical consideration. As research methods, we conducted empirical researches and literature studies such as previous articles, monographs, related books, and internet materials. In the empirical study, the hair discarded in the work was recycled, Four works that combine unique artistic form with hair art were reinterpreted and painted. Through such research, it is possible to understand the symbolic image inherent in traditional folk paintings, We recycled the hair and applied it to the hair art, so that we could express it with creative artistic design. In addition, this work can be used as a medium of novel design research and development that can be used as various hair arts and exhibitions in each field, It is expected to become an opportunity to be recognized as a noble image and to be able to spread the traditional beauty and the beautiful beauty of beauty to the world everywhere thanks to the beauty and the public.

현대사회는 다양한 문물과 사상이 세계적으로 서로 활발하게 교류되면서 문화와 예술은 동양과 서양이 만나 원만하게 소통이 이루어지고 있다. 그 나라들이 가진 역사와 문화를 전 세계에 전하고자 활동적인 자세를 보여주고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 영향으로 인하여 현 우리나라에서도 많은 작가와 예술가들에게 관심과 흥미가 고조되어 과거와 달리 세계 적인 전통문화로 자리매김하게 되었다. 전통문화 중에서도 민화 화조도는 우리에게 무한 한 영감을 전해 주고 있으므로 다양하고 독창적인 디자인을 접할 수 있는 소재로 적당하게 작용하고 있다. 전통 민화는 그 시대의 역사를 반영한 선조들의 삶과 철학이 문화 속에 담겨져 있어 고유한 전통성과 상징성을 잘 표현해 주고 있다. 민화는 우리 민족 문화의 결실로 사상, 신앙, 정서, 관습, 생활미, 인간미를 가미하고 있는 미학적 표현으로 민족애 의 뿌리로 뻗어나가고 있다. 따라서 전통 민화 화조도의 특성을 개발 연구하는 것은 거대 한 디자인 발상과 새로운 분야로 연결되어 갈 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이론적 고찰을 통해 민화 화조도가 지닌 조형성과 상징성을 토대로 폐 모발을 재활용하여 헤어아 트와 접목하여 독창적인 헤어아트 디자인개발을 나타내는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으 로는 선행논문, 단행본, 관련서적, 인터넷 자료 등 실증적 연구와 문헌연구를 병행하였 다. 실증적 연구는 작품제작에 버려지는 모발을 재활용하여 민화 화조도에 따라 각각 응용하였고, 독특한 조형적인 예술미를 헤어아트에 접목한 4작품을 회화적으로 재해석하 여 제작하였다. 이와 같은 연구를 통해 전통 민화 화조도에 내재된 상징적인 이미지를 이해할 수 있으며, 이를 폐 모발을 재활용하여 헤어아트에 접목시켜 창의적인 아름다운 예술 디자인으로 표현해 낼 수 있었다. 또한, 이 작품이 각각 분야에서 다양한 헤어아트와 전시물로 이용할 수 있는 참신한 디자인 연구 개발의 매개체가 될 수 있으리라 사료되며, 고귀한 이미지로 인식되어 미용인들과 대중인들로 인해 고유의 전통적인 미와 아름다운 고전적인 미를 세계 방방곡곡에 널리 알릴 수 있는 방향으로 나아가는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.
