Today’s Korean churches are confronted with the crisis in pastoral ministry. While Korean churches have tried to renew themselves for last 20 years, positive results outcome somehow. Macroscopically, however, the big problems Korean churches have to overcome lie ahead and those problems need for more radical approaches. The macroscopic problems which today’s Korean churches face are as in the followings; postmodernism, rapid secularization, rapid aging, church bi-polarization, and Korean churches’ tendency toward middle class. Althogh there are various solutions to these macro problems, it is necessary not symptomatic but radical approaches for solution. It is the radical approaches for Korean churches to transform from traditional building and pastor centered ministry to small group-centered and laity centered ministry which the new generation needs through paradigm shift in pastoral ministry. Those pastoral paradigm shift is not new approaches but the biblical approaches to restore the nature of the Church which the Bible shows. Korean churches, in order to build up relational faith rather than nominal faith, need the clear evangelistic teaching with the appropriate creative ways in their ministerial contents. These ministerial contents are the ways to build up the personal and relational faith which are the traits of the genuine Christianity. While the nature of the gospel should be constant, its expression has been properly changed throughout the ages. The problems in front of Korean churches, based on the Bible, should be solved through restoring both the nature of the Church and the relationship between God and men with pastoral paradigm shifting.

오늘날 한국교회는 목회사역의 위기에 직면하고 있다. 비록 지난 20 여년 이상 한국교회는 갱신의 노력을 기울여왔으며 부분적으로 어느 정도의 긍정적 결과도 얻고 있다. 하지만 한국교회는 거시적으로 볼 때 여전히 큰 어려움들을 눈앞에 두고 있으며, 이러한 어려움들은 보다 근 원적인 해결방법을 필요로 한다. 오늘날 한국교회가 직면한 대표적인 이러한 거시적 어려움들로는 포스트모더니즘, 세속화의 증가, 급속한 고령화, 교회의 양극화, 그리고 한국교회의 중산층화 경향을 들 수 있 다. 이러한 어려움에 대하여 다양한 해결책이 있을 수 있으나 이러한 문제의 해결책은 대증적이 아닌 보다 근본적인 해결책을 필요로 한다. 그것은 바로 목회패러다임의 변화를 통하여 건물 중심, 목회자중심 의 전통적 목회패러다임에서 새로운 시대가 요구하는 소그룹구조의 평 신도 중심 사역의 목회패러다임으로 전환하는 것이다. 이러한 목회패 러다임의 전환은 새로운 접근이라기보다는 오히려 성경에서 보여주는 교회의 본질을 회복하는 방향이라 할 수 있다. 목회사역 내용 또한 포 스트모던 시대에 적합한 창조적 방식으로 성경에 기초한 분명한 복음 적 가르침을 제공하는 동시에 명제적 신앙이 아닌 관계적 신앙의 방향 으로 사역을 하여야 한다. 이러한 사역내용의 접근 또한 기독교신앙의 특징인 인격적 관계적 신앙을 함양하는 접근방법이다. 복음은 늘 본질은 변하지 않지만 그 적용방식은 시대에 따라 적절하 게 변화하여왔다. 오늘날 한국교회 앞에 놓여있는 문제들 역시 성경을 토대로 하여 교회의 본질을 회복하며 하나님과 인간의 관계의 본질을 회복하는 목회패러다임의 전환을 통하여 극복할 수 있다.
