In this paper, the usage of ナイデ clause which represents 'attendant circumstances' is classified into three types (A, B, and C) according to the relations with the main clause. The relations between ナイデ clause and the main clause are examined in view of temporality. In the type A of ナイデ clause, Pナイ simply occurs as an attendant circumstance of Q. In the type B, Pナイ and Q occur simultaneously, but such a happening is a surprise or contrary to general expectation. In the type C, the occurrence of P is expected in 「PナイデQ」. However, P does not occur and instead, Q actually takes place. In this case of the type C, ナイデ can be replaced with カワリニ. In conclusion, this paper states that from the view of temporality the attendant circumstances as negative events take place simultaneously with the main clause Q. Nevertheless, in close examination, the types A and B represent a simultaneous time relation of an identical pattern. On the other hand, the type C describes a simultaneous time relation of different patterns from A and B. This may be explained by the fact that ナイデ clause of the C type contains the meaning of 「カワリニ(instead of)」.

본 논문은 ＜付帯状況＞을 나타내는 ナイデ節을 主節과의 의미관계에 따라서 A유형, B유형, C유형의 3개의 용법으로 분류하였다. 그리고 각 용법에 있어서 ナイデ節과 主節과의 관계를 時間性의 관점에서 고찰하였다. A유형의 ナイデ節은 단순히 Pナイ가 Q에 부수하여 이루어지는 유형이다. B유형은 Pナイ와 Q가 동시에 이루어지는 것이 일반의 기대나 예측에 반하는 것을 나타내는 유형이다. 그리고 C유형은 「PナイデQ」에 있어서 P의 발생이 기대되지만 실제로는 P가 발생하지 않고, 그 대신에 Q가 발생한다는 것을 나타낸다. 결과적으로 ＜付帯状況＞을 나타내는 3개의 ナイデ節은 時間性의 관점에서는 従属節의 否定의 事態가 행해지는 상태에서 主節의 사태가 동시에 이루어진다는 공통된 시간관계를 나타낸다. 그러나 시간관계를 자세히 들여다보면 A유형과 B유형의 ナイデ節은 동일한 패턴의 시간관계를 나타낸다. 그러나 C유형의 ナイデ節은 A유형과 B유형과는 다른 양상을 보인다. 그 이유는 C유형의 ナイデ節에는 「カワリニ」라는 대체의 의미가 내재되어 있기 때문이라고 생각된다.
