This study was performed as the follow-up research of actor and partner effects of couples' marital satisfaction on alcohol use. The purpose of this study was to verify actor and partner effects of couples’ marital satisfaction and depression on alcohol use. The sample consisted of 1,066 couples from the seventh wave of Korean Children Panel Study. Data were analyzed via actor-partner interdependence models(APIM). The findings illustrated that the actor and partner effects of marital satisfaction on depression were significant in wives and husbands. They also revealed that actor effects was significant in relation to wives’ marital satisfaction on alcohol use. Moreover, partner effects and actor effects of depression on alcohol use for wives and husbands was significant. Finally, the mediating effect of depression between marital satisfaction and alcohol use was verified. The results imply the need for dyadic data analysis for wives and husbands and the need for investigation of marital dynamic process on alcohol use. This study was meaningful in that APIM was verified with dayadic data of couples which were not managed in the previous researches, and actor and partner effects were significantly identified.

본 연구는 부부의 결혼만족도와 알코올 사용에 있어 주관적 행복감의 매개효과를 검증한 선행연구의 후 속으로 진행된 연구로서 우울의 매개적 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 7차 자료 중 1066 쌍의 짝자료(dyadic data)를 활용하여 변인 간 자기효과(actor effect)와 상대방효과(partner effect)를 검증하였 다. 자기-상대방 상호의존모형(Actor-Partner Interdependence Models: APIM)을 활용한 연구결과는 다음과 같 다. 첫째, 부부의 결혼만족도와 우울의 관계에서 자기효과와 상대방 효과 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 부부의 결혼만족도와 알코올 사용의 관계에서 부부 모두에서 자기효과만 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 부부 의 우울과 알코올 사용의 관계에서 아내와 남편의 자기효과와 상대방 효과 모두에서 유의한 영향을 미쳤 다. 마지막으로 부부의 결혼만족도와 알코올 사용의 관계에서 우울의 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이와 같은 결 과는 밀접한 상호작용이 일어나는 부부를 대상으로 한 연구의 경우, 짝자료를 분석단위로 해야 할 필요성 과 알코올 사용과 부부관계 역동에 대한 탐색이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 기존의 연구에서 다루지 않 았던 짝자료의 특징을 고려할 수 있는 연구 모형을 설정하여 부부를 한 단위로 하여 각 변인 간의 관계에 서 자기효과와 상대방 효과를 확인하였으며 자기효과와 상대방효과 간 상대적 크기를 비교하여 부부의 상 호 간의 영향력을 확인하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.
