The purpose of this study is to investigate whether emotional preparation and trust of financial industry workers are helpful in developing and preparing entrepreneurial opportunities. In addition, this study aims to find out which factors should be encouraged to increase financial industry workers’ entrepreneurial intention. Specifically, the effects of emotional preparation and trust on the entrepreneurial intention in the financial industry and the mediating effect of social networks were examined. Emotional preparation and trust have positive effects on the social networks. Emotional preparation has a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intention, while trust has no significant effect on the entrepreneurial intention. The social networks have a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intention. The mediating effect of social networks was identified in the relationship between emotional preparation and entrepreneurial intention. The result implies that emotional preparation and social networks are important factors in systematically responding to changes in the structure of the labor market by utilizing career experience and professionalism after retirement in the financial industry. We also discuss the limitation and future research directions.

본 연구는 금융업 종사자의 직무특성으로 볼 수 있는 정서적 준비와 신뢰, 사회적 네트워크가 창업기회를 개발하고 준비하는데 도움이 되는지 규명하고자 한다. 또한 창업의도를 높이기 위해 어떤 부분을 장려해야 하는지에 관한 학술적 의미를 찾고자 한다. 금융업 종사자의 정서적 준비와 신뢰가 창업의도에 미치는 영향관계와 사회적 네트워크의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 실증분석 결과 정서적 준비와 신뢰는 사회적 네트워크에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 정서적 준비는 창업의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 신뢰는 창업의도에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 사회적 네트워크는 창업의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 정서적 준비와 창업의도 간의 영향관계에서 사회적 네트워크의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 금융업 종사자가 퇴직 후 직업경력과 전문성을 살리고 노동시장 구조변화에 체계적으로 대응하는데 있어 정서적 준비와 사회적 네트워크가 중요한 영향요인임을 확인하였다. 연구결과의 시사점, 정책적 제언, 그리고 한계를 제시하였다.
