The purpose of this study is to understand the perception of college students as the young generation for caregiving for the aging parents. This study present generation model and gender model to explore caregving percept for the aging parents in the young generation. The main research target is college students(N = 235) in Gyeongsan city and Gyeongju city. We conduct the ordered logit analysis by using SPSS and Stata. In generation model, the findings suggest that the sense of duty of college students is positively associated with caregiving perception for the aging parents. In gender model, this study finds out the considerable difference in caregiving perception between male and female. This study provides us with basic data to grasp caregiving perception for the old aging parents of college students. The empirical analysis of undergraduates' perception of caregiving can use the important policy grounds for establishing caregiving support policy for the aging.

본 연구는 미래의 (부모)부양세대인 대학생들을 중심으로 부모부양에 대한 인식의 남녀 간 차이에 대한 핵심적인 2가지 모형(부모님의 반대에도 불구하고 부모부양 – 세대모형, 배우자의 반대에도 불구하고 부모부양 – 성차모형)을 설정하여 분석한다. 제시된 두 모형 내에서, 개인(인식)요인, 사회적 요인, 가족요인이 대학생들의 부모부양 인식에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 실증적 고찰을 시도한다. 연구대상은 경산 및 경주지역 대학생(233명)이며, 자료 분석을 위해 서열형 로짓분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 세대모형에서는 개인(인식)요인으로서 도덕적·윤리적 측면으로서의 부모부양 의무가 대학생들의 부모부양 인식에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인된 반면, 경제적·금전적 요인(부양관련 유산상속)은 오히려 부양인식에 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 성차모형에서는 세대모형과는 달리 남녀 간의 인식 차이가 두드러지게 나타났다. 과거와는 달리 여성이 부모부양에 상당히 적극적이고 주도적인 입장을 견지하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 대학생들의 부모부양에 대한 인식에 대한 연구는 대학생을 포함한 청년층의 부모부양 의식을 파악할 수 있는 기본적인 자료가 되는 동시에, 대학생들의 부모부양에 대한 실증적 분석은 향후 부모(노인)부양 관련 정책 수립에 있어 중요한 정책적 근거로 활용 가능할 것이다.
