Cadmium was a kind of silver-white heavy metal. Like chromium, cadmium was combined with oxygen, chlorine and sulfur in nature to form various compounds. Because cadmium was a mutagen and was highly toxic, it was also known as an itai-itai disease. This study investigated various physiological disorders caused by the absorption of cadmium by Pleurotus ostreatus when the cadmium was treated by concentration in the mycelium of Pleurotus ostreatus. The fresh weight, pH, and dry weight of mycelia treated with CdCl2 at 10 ppm and 100 ppm on PDB medium were measured. Fresh weight of Pleurotus ostreatus treated with 10 ppm in PDB medium was 0.05 g. The weight of the building was 0.0009g. The pH on the PDB medium was also found to be 4.84. The above results showed that CdCl2 affects mushroom growth, and we will confirm genes involved in CdCl2 uptake by confirming RNA express levels in the future study.
