The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of happiness enhancing program elementary children's happiness. The subjects were 26(experimental group = 13 and control group=13) 4, 5th graders of D elementary school in rural area. The Happiness Rating Inventory and the Korean-version of Connor-Davidson Resilience scale were administered as pre and post test. The students of experimental group participated in happiness enhancing program, but students of control group did not. The data were analysed by SPSS(20.0). In this study, it was found that the happiness enhancing program had effect on students' happiness. The effects of program were founded across the sub-scores of Happiness Rating Inventory and Connor-Davidson Resilience scale. Thus, it was concluded that the happiness enhancing program enhanced the happiness and resilience of elementary students in the rural areas. It was suggested that the further researches were conducted to examine whether the effects of this study were generalize other elementary graders or middle or high school students and retained for a longer time.

이 연구의 목적은 행복감 키우기 프로그램이 농촌 초등학교 학생의 행복감 및 회복탄력성에 미치는 효과를 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 충청남도의 농촌 지역에 있는 D초등 학교의 4, 5학년 학생 13명과 환경이 유사한 H초등학교의 4, 5학년 학생 13명을 대상으로 수 행되었다. 두 집단 모두에게 행복감 검사와 회복탄력성 검사가 사전 및 사후 검사로 실시되 었다. 실험집단에는 행복감 키우기 프로그램이 주 2회 총 9회기에 거쳐 투입되었다. 실험결 과는 SPSS(20.0)을 활용하여 분석되었다. 사후검사에서 행복감 전체 점수는 물론 하위요인들에 서도 행복감 키우기 프로그램을 처치 받은 실험집단 학생의 점수가 통제집단 학생의 점수보 다 유의하게 높았다. 그리고 회복탄력성 전체 점수는 물론 하위요인들에서도 실험집단 학생 의 점수가 통제집단 학생의 점수보다 유의하게 높았다. 따라서 행복감 키우기 프로그램은 농 촌 초등학교 학생의 행복감과 회복탄력성의 증진에 효과가 있다는 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 일반화하기 초등학교 4, 5학년 이외의 학생이나 중고등학생 대상으로 소수의 특정 학생이 아니라 다수의 학생을 대상으로 이 연구의 결과를 검증할 필요가 있다. 더 나아 가 효과의 지속성과 관련된 연구 등이 필요할 것이다.
