EA(Enterprise Architecture) has been institutionalized in Korea several years ago, nonetheless many adopted agencies do not utilize EA in its full capacity. Many agencies simply carry out EA projects and archive deliverables in a cabinet. Other agencies ask for help what to do with EA products. All these problems come from inaccurate understanding of EA. The study analyzes concepts related EA and similar methods, and attempts to reinterpret EA concepts in detail. This effort could lead practitioners better understand and facilitate correct EA implementation, and in addition provide a basis for future EA research in that what is EA and what is not.

정보기술에 대한 투자액은 점차 증가하고 있으나 그 효과가 가시적이지 못해 정보기술 투자를 줄이는 경우가 많다. 반대로 가시적이지 못하므로 방만하게 투자를 한 경우도 적지 않다. EA(Enterprise Architecture)는 IT 투자 효율성과 효과성을 제고하기 위해 고안된 관리방법론이다. 국내의 경우 EA의 중요성이 인식되어 법제화되기까지 하였으나 제대로 활용하는 기관은 많지 않다. 대부분의 경우 EA 개념에 대한 인식 부족으로 충분히 활용되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 EA 대한 개념을 다시 한번폭 넓게 조망함으로써 실무에서 EA활용을 촉진할 수 있게 하고, 또한 EA 연구를 위한 기초가 될 것으로 본다.
