Today, across IT community EA(Enterprise Architecture) and SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) have been at the center of public concerns. EA is naturally born by the major drivers as the complexity of IT systems, redundant applications development, the lack of interoperability and the problems of systems integration. Many countries, including South Korea, made legislative bills to promote adopting EA into public institution and are implementing EA, EA be a useful toll to control the IT budget and application redundancy, however, it is still a problem for us to manage the enterprise because the basic unit of EA is an application that is too big to manage. When you develop an enterprise-level business process, there are still problems with the reintegration of several applications that have the partial solutions for the enterprise wide applications, We present SOA(Service-Oriented Architecture) as its solution. Both EA and SOA are Complimentary. While EA provides the overall view of the enterprise for SOA, SOA provides the enterprise-level solution for EA, Accordingly, they can create the synergy effect. This paper evaluates several conditions for EA and SOA going together and presents several approaches for the integration of EA and SOA. We propose a method of mapping SOA to MND(Ministry of National Defense) EA and explain it with a real example. Although adopting SOA in your organization is needed, it is not appropriate to the SOA adoption in the enterprise level in a short period of time. We present an evolutionary approach for applying SOA.

오늘날 IT분야 전반에 걸쳐 전사적 아키텍처(EA: Enterprise Architecture)와 서비스 지향 아키텍처(SOA: Service Oriented Architecture)는 두 가지 주요 화두가 되고 있다. EA는 IT 시스템의 복잡성, 중복개발, 상호운용성 미흡, 시스템통합 어려움 등이 주요 동인으로 작용되어 태동되었다. 우리나라를 비롯한 많은 나라에서 EA 도입을 법제화하여 구축을 추진 중에 있다. EA가 IT예산 및 중복개발 통제 등 관리적 측면에서는 유용하지 만 EA의 관리기본단위인 애플리케이션(Application)이 너무 크기 때문에 실질적인 관리 및 활용에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 즉 전사적 차원의 업무 프로세스 개발 시 부분적인 프로세스를 처리하는 다수 애플리케이션을 다시 통합하여야 하기 때문에 기존의 통합문제가 다시 대두된다. 이에 대한 솔루션으로서 서비스 지향 아키텍처(SOA)를 제안한다. EA와 SOA는 상호 보완적으로 EA는 SOA에 전사적 관점을 제공하고 SOA는 EA에 전사적 접근의 솔루션을 제공한다. 결과적으로 효율적인 EA와 SOA 통합 시 승수효과(Synergy Effect)를 낼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 EA와 SOA의 통합 활용을 위한 조건을 살펴보고 다양한 통합 적용 방안을 제시한다. 또한 현재 구축중인 국방 EA에 SOA 적용방안을 제안하며 실질적인 사례를 들어 설명한다. 비록 조직에 SOA 적용은 필요하지만 단기간에 전사적인 접근은 바람직하지 않다. 따라서 단계적이고 진화적인 접근방법을 제시한다.
