The purpose of this study is to redesign the Youngyang International Dark Sky Protection Park as a Star Theme Park. Understanding the character of its space from the aspects sense of place and under the discussion of discovering the location and changing the theme, developing the local culture with the images of stars by applying space storytelling and seeking development of cultural tourism are the goal of this study. For this, the status of the Youngyang International Dark Sky Protection Park was analyzed and its value and meaning were examined. Based on the theoretical considerations discussed above and the analysis of the status of the research subjects, the planned direction of the star theme park was set. The soul of the Dark Sky Protection Park was discovered and the space storytelling according to the creation of the place through the increase sense of place was realized. An operating program was then created based upon the star theme park to maximize the star images which was developed and presented. The fact that Youngyang-gun is in a remote mountain area and its low recognition rate were recognized as limitations because they could be a disadvantage for the star theme park project. With these new ideas, I can be recognized that it is possible to have a star theme park as a residential tourism with a detailed program.

본 연구의 목적은 영양국제밤하늘보호공원을 별 테마파크로 기획하는 것이다. 공간의특성을 장소감의 측면에서 이해하고 장소의 발견과 변주라는 담론 아래, 공간스토리텔링을 적용하여 별 이미지를 통한 지역 만들기와 문화관광산업 발전을 모색하는 것이다. 이를위해 영양국제밤하늘보호공원의 현황을 분석하고, 그 가치와 의미를 살폈다. 이론적 고찰과 연구 대상의 현황 분석에 따라 별 테마파크 기획 방향을 설정하였다. 밤하늘보호공원이지닌 장소의 혼을 발견하고, 장소감 증대를 통한 장소 창조에 따라 공간스토리텔링을 구현하였다. 이에 따라 별 테마파크 조성과 별 이미지를 극대화한 운영 프로그램을 개발하여제시하였다. 영양군이 산간 오지라는 것과 인지도가 낮은 것이 별 테마파크 기획의 단점으로 작용할 수 있어 한계로 인식되었으나, 새로운 발상으로 체류형 관광으로의 별 테마파크가 가능함을 재인식하며 세부적인 프로그램을 구성하였다.
