Yun-jeung(1629-1714) was the scholar in late Cho-sun dynasty. His family originate was Papyung(坡平) and his name was Ja-in(子仁). In addition, he was called as Myeong-jae(明齋). His father was Mi-chon Yun Seon-geo(尹宣擧, 1610-1669), his mother was the daughter of Lee families in Kong-Ju(公州). In terms of the records, his life was the continuation of the difficulties: In his early life, he experienced of his mother’s death due to ByeongJa Horan(丙子胡亂), Later, he was supposed of enduring the criticism about his father. In politically and scholarly, he became the leader of Soron(少論) and he fought against the party of Noron(老論). However, he had a strong foundation over 80 years with the political experiences because he had the sense of balance to choose the moderation rather than extreme choices. In case of Yun-jeung, his academic tradition had various aspects, however, the interpretation of Confucian scriptures were not far from the boundaries of Zhu-xi’s academic tradition. And, in case of the principal of human nature, his academic tradition came from the continuation of Yulgok-Yi(李珥, 1536-1584). In the comparison of Park Se-dang(朴世堂, 1629-1703) and Yang Deuk Jung(梁得中, 1665-1742), his standing position was more near in the moderation(中庸) due to respect of Zhu-xi and Yulgok-Yi.

尹拯(1629-1714)은 조선 후기 학자로서 본관은 坡平이고, 字는 子仁, 號는 明齋이다. 아울러 그의 아버지는 美村 尹宣擧(1610-1669)이고 어머니는 公州李氏 長白의 따님이다. 관련된 기록 및 그에 관한 연구를 일별해 볼 때, 그의 삶은 浮沈의 연속이었다고 여겨진다. 초년기에 병자호란을 당하여 모친의 죽음을 경험하고, 그 후에도 생존한 아버지에 대한 비난을 감내해야 했던 것이 그것이며, 정치적으로도 老少分黨의 와중에서 少論의 領袖로 추대되어 반대파에 맞서 정치 및 학술적 투쟁을 벌여야 했던 것이 그 예이다. 하지만 그럼에도 불구하고 80세를 넘는 생애 동안 굳건한 입지를 가지며 정치적 경륜을 보인 것은, 극단적 선택을 피하고 중용에 가까운 나름의 균형감각을 유지한 것에 기인한 것으로 보인다. 명재 윤증의 경우 그 學問淵源은 매우 다양한 면모를 가지고 있지만, 경문 해석에 대한 구체적 사례를 통해 볼 때 기본적으로 주자학의 범위에서 크게 벗어나고 있지는 않다고 생각된다. 그리고 그의 성리설의 경우에도 기본적으로 본인의 학문적 뿌리인 율곡 이이의 연장에서 성립된 것으로 확인되며, 그의 학문적 교우인 박세당이나 양득중 등과 비교해 볼 때 주자나 율곡의 견해를 존신하고 있다는 측면에서 그들보다 오히려 온건한 입장에 서 있던 것으로 파악된다.
