The paper is based on a Joseon edition of "Monggye-pil-dam(夢溪筆談)". This book was a rare early edition and there was an important bibliographic value. So we researched that what was about historical meaning and bibliographic information of the book. It was confirmed that the edition was published in approximately 1478-1479 [‘Sungjong(成宗)’ 10] in “Gyeongju(慶州)”. The publisher of the Joseon edition was “Kang Hee-meng(姜希孟)”. The publication of the book was initiated by the personal interest of his father “Kang Suk-Duk(姜碩德)”. The historical meaning of this book's publication has been divided into three parts. First of all, it was the first domestic version. Second, the advanced academic and cultural studies and culture of “Song(宋)” Dynasty, had been introduced and expanded in Joseon. The third is that similar forms of encyclopedic writing were sparked. The bibliographic value of this book's publication also has been divided into three parts. First, it is the first Korean edition for of "Monggye-pil-dam(夢溪筆談)". Second, as the literature material of the first half of the 15th century, it is a well-preserved edition. Third, the books of the Joseon Dynasty's local publication can be fully identified. Rare copies of Chinese classical texts published in Joseon have been discovered and reported to the academic community. Therefore, it seems very urgent to continue to investigate and research about that.

이 논문은 옥산서원 소장 조선간본 『몽계필담』을 대상으로 하여 간행 경위, 역사적 의미, 서지학적 가치에 대해 살펴본 것이다. 조선간본 『몽계필담』 하책의 끝부분에 姜希孟의 ｢跋文｣이 있고 작성시기가 기록되어 있어서, 대략 1478∼1479년(성종 10)에 간행된 판본임을 확인하였다. 그리고 상책의 1면 우측 여백에 藏書記가 있어서 경주 옥산서원에 수장된 시기가 1573년임을 밝혔다. 『몽계필담』 간행은 姜希孟의 발문에 따르면 부친 姜碩德에 의해 시작된 것이었다. 부친이 우연히 궁중 서고에서 『몽계필담』을 보았고, 내용이 좋아 필사하여 집안에 소장하였다. 이어 출간을 하려고 했지만 오류가 많아 간행에는 이르지 못했다. 이후 친지가 강희맹에게 중국본 한 질을 갖고 와서 다시 간행 작업을 진행하였고, 친분이 있던 鄭孝常이 경상도관찰사로 부임하자 부탁하여 慶州府에서 간행하게 되었다. 조선간본 『몽계필담』의 간행이 가지는 역사적 의미는, 첫째 최초의 국내 유통본이라는 점이다. 두 번째는 중국 송대의 선진 학술과 문화가 국내에 도입‧확산되었다는 점이다. 세 번째는 유사한 형태의 백과사전식 저술이 촉발되는 계기가 되었다는 점이다. 서지학적 가치로는 첫째 『몽계필담』의 최초의 국내 간본이라는 점이다. 둘째 15세기 전반의 문헌으로서 보존 상태가 양호한 완질의 판본이라는 점이다. 셋째 조선 전기 지방 간본 문헌의 서지와 형태를 온전히 확인할 수 있는 자료라는 점이다.
