A Study on the Effects of Ethical Management in Casino Industry upon Employee`s Organizational Commitment, Whistle-blowing Intention

Regarding corporate management, ethical management has been an object of interest for a long time. This study is aimed to understand whistle blowing not as a mere function of making unethical behavior known but as a management strategy related to practicing the ethical management system. To address the goal, this author selected employees from a casino company in Korea and examined the effects of practicing ethical management on whistle blowing intention and organizational commitment based on their attitudes about whistle blowing, subjective norms, and perception of control over their behavior. According to the study results, first, ethical management is found to influence their attitudes about whistle blowing and subjective norms positively. Second, attitudes about whistle blowing and subjective norms influence whistle blowing intention positively. Third, ethical management is found to influence organizational commitment positively. Lastly, whistle blowing intention influences organizational commitment positively. Based on the results above, this researcher suggests managerial implications for practicing ethical management in the conclusion.
