The discussion on the Slender Bronze Daggers Culture in Northeast China has centred around bronze weaponry in the Liaoning Area. The research to date suggests that Liaoning Area’s Slender Bronze Daggers Culture was formed in the Liaoxi Area and later spread to the Liaodong Area in the course of establishing a weaponry system through interactions with the Zhongyuan Culture. During the Slender Bronze Daggers Culture Phase(400–100BCE), the practicality of the Bronze Daggers were improved, and the Bronze Halberds and spearheads were further adopted through exchanges with the Zhongyuan Culture. This constituted a new Bronze Dagger-Halberd-Spearhead weaponry system. This phenomenon applies to the Korean Peninsula’s Slender Bronze Daggers Culture as well. Understanding that the Slender Bronze Daggers Culture’s characteristics originate from Liaoning Area is crucial in accounting for the chain of cultural changes between Zhongyuan, Liaoning, and the Korean Peninsula. The cultural identity of Old Joseon, during the Warring States Period, is dependent on how the period’s bronze weaponry is regarded. Further assessment is required for the specifics of the Liaoning Area’s bronze weaponry, however, these serve as important bases for including the Liaoning Area into the sphere of the Slender Bronze Daggers Culture.

요령지역을 중심으로 한 중국 동북지역의 세형동검문화는 청동무기를 중심으로 논의되어 왔다. 현재까지 연구 결과, 요령지역 세형동검문화는 중원문화와의 상호작용을 통해 무기체계를 수용하 는 과정에서 요서지역에서 성립하여 요동지역으로 파급되었다고 할 수 있다. 세형동검문화 단계(기원전 400∼100년경)에는 동검의 실용성이 높아지고, 중원문화의 동과와 동모가 선택적으로 수용되어 이전과는 달리 동검-동과-동모의 무기체계가 완비된다. 이는 한반도 의 세형동검문화에도 확인되는 현상이다. 이와 같은 특징적인 문화 양상이 요령지역에서 먼저 시 작되었다는 점은 동북아시아의 연쇄적인 문화변동을 이해하는 데 중요하다. ‘요령식세형동검’과 ‘한국식세형동검’은 동시기의 지역성을 띠는 서로 구분되는 동검 양식(형식) 이다. 이에 비해 ‘요령식동과’와 ‘요령식세형동모’는 ‘한국식동과’와 ‘한국식세형동모’의 조형으로 추정되고 있다. 요령지역(요령식)과 한반도(한국식)는 세형동검문화 발전 과정에서 다양하게 상호 작용했던 것으로 이해된다. 전국시대 고조선의 청동무기를 어느 양식으로 보느냐에 따라 그 문화 정체성은 달라지게 된다. 요령지역 세형동검문화에 대한 연구 쟁점들은 향후 재검토가 필요하나, 그 특징적인 청동무기는 요령지역을 세형동검문화권에 포함시켜 볼 수 있는 주요한 근거를 제공한다.
