The objective of this study is to design the curriculum model most necessary to students, by understanding the current status of musical dance education and also analyzing works. Reviewing the dance curriculum of musical-relevant departments, acting department, and dance department in the whole nation, it also conducted frequency analysis on four foreign musicals and four domestic musicals. In the results, the current curriculum was not good enough to digest the field musical choreography, which showed the necessity of new curriculum. Thus, it aims to suggest essential and useful dance curriculum to college students in the relevant areas. First, complex and diverse movements could be trained through modern dance. Second, movement techniques currently used by Korean creative musicals could be learnt through modern jazz and urban dance. Third, dancing, singing, and acting could be understood together and applied suitable for the characteristics of numerous musical numbers(music) through musical repertoire. Fourth, students can improve the qualitative level by understanding their own bodies and then creating individual characters showing their own characteristics through choreography. Fifth, through traditional dance, students can enhance their own abilities by learning Korean-style dance movement, mask dance, and rhythm, and learning breathing different from foreign dances, and also applying it to dancing, acting, and singing. Sixth, students can develop physical quickness, endurance, sociability, analysis, and expression, and also complement their insufficiency through musical workshop. This study suggested dance subjects most necessary to the current musical choreography suitable for the curriculum.

본 연구의 목적은 뮤지컬 무용교육현황을 파악하여 대학 뮤지컬 무용교육과정 모형을 설계하는데 있다. 이를 위해 전국에 있는 뮤지컬 관련학과와 연기학과 무용학과의 무용교육과정을 살펴보았으며, 외국 뮤지컬 4편과 국내 뮤지컬 4편의 작품 분석을 통해 무용의 특성을 살펴보았다. 연구방법은 교과과정 분석, 빈도분석, 작품분석 및 전문가 회의를 실시하였다. 그 결과 현재 교육과정으로 이루어지는 뮤지컬 안무를 소화하기에 다소 무리가 따르며 체계적인 뮤지컬 무용교육과정의 필요 성을 도출하였다. 또한 체계적인 뮤지컬 무용교육을 위한 대학 뮤지컬 무용교육과정을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 현대 무용 과목을 통하여 복잡하고 다양한 움직임을 훈련할 수 있다. 둘째, 모던재즈와 얼반댄스 과목을 통하여 현 한국창작뮤지 컬에서 사용되는 동작의 기법들을 익힐 수 있다. 셋째, 뮤지컬레파토리 과목을 통하여 수많은 뮤지컬 넘버(음악)의 특성에 맞는 무용을 익히고 노래와 연기를 병행 하여 이해하고 적용훈련을 할 수 있다. 넷째, 안무 과목을 통하여 자신의 신체를 파악하고 특성을 살려 개성 있는 캐릭터를 창조하여 질적 수준을 높일 수 있다. 다섯째, 전통무용과목을 통하여 한국적 춤 사위와, 탈춤, 장단 등을 배우고 외국무용과는 다른 호흡법을 익혀서 무용과 연기, 노래에 접목하여 자신의 능력을 증진 시 킬 수 있다. 여섯째, 뮤지컬워크샾을 통하여 신체의 민첩성, 지구력, 집중력, 친화력, 분석력, 표현력 등을 기르고 자신의 부 족한 요소를 찾아 보완하는 자기계발을 할 수 있다.
