Most of universities and colleges have been changing in big scale their admission process today, which are to offer students an another opportunity for new educative direction of design sector. They are replacing admission test for students' high school records to especially practical skill test, while some of them which had only practical skill test offers another non-practical skill test as well. This study is the firstly attempt as to design training policy by observation of design sketch class provided by universities and colleges, it is thus hoped that this will abstract some competent and performant differences among the students selected from practical skill test and the students from non-practical skill test. This will give an idea for design training in solving communication problems of the two groups. The principal observation of this paper is whether there is any competent difference for sketching between the two groups. The criteria are divided by some important sketching categories: formal accuracy, compositional creation, shading balance, and perspective variability as primordial sketching fundamental; objet representivity, lines, arrangements and composition, light direction, shading style, perspective and perspection, objet positioning etc as additional sketching performance to the first categories which would serve for exploitative factors. There are arguments in favour and against and this paper provides a short review. On balance, the positive aspects of a traditional sketching training should not outweigh the negative ones for the students from non-practical skill test. The novelty of the paper is the attempt to address the critical voices to the traditional training system and offers some effective consideration to be sensible to pay more attention to change their given curriculum.

다변하는 대학의 디자인 교육 정책에 따라 대학의 대부분이 기존의 입학전형을 대대적으로 변경하고 있다. 특히, 대다수의 대학들이 내신성적과 실기전형으로 진행하였던 입학전형을 실기전형으로 바꾸고, 실기전형만 있던 대학들은 비실기전형을 만들어 진행하는 경우도 생겨나기 시작됐다. 본 연구에서는 이렇게 다변하는 디자인 교육 정책 에 대응하여 비실기전형 학생들과 실기전형 학생들의 디자인 스케치 수업을 되짚어보고, 효과적인 디자인 교육을 위하여 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 제시하려 한다. 먼저, 경기도에 위치한 디자인전공 학생들을 중심 으로 비실기전형과 실기전형 학생의 디자인 스케치 능력에 대한 관계성을 알아보았다. 디자인 검사 지도 안 작성시, 1차로 디자인 스케치 평가요인에 대해서 디자인 스케치의 형태의 정확성, 구도의 창의성, 명암 의 정확성, 시선의 다양성을 중심으로 평가하였다. 2 차로 탐색적 요인 분석으로, 형태는 사물의 정확성, 선의 표현, 구도는 창의적 구도와 사물의 배열, 명암은 빛의 방향, 그림자의 표현, 시선을 투시도법, 원근 감, 사물의 방향, 같은 시점을 분석하였다. 디자인 전공 학생들의 디자인 스케치 교육에서 기존 방식으로 드로잉 수업을 진행할 경우, 비실기전형 학생들에게는 비효율적인 수업이 될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 앞으로 비실기전형 학생들에게 맞는 효 과적인 수업을 위하여 커리큘럼이 개발되어야 한다.
