The purpose of this study is to demonstrate empirically the relationship model between intrinsic motivation, subject interest and happiness in physical education in middle school students. In order to accomplish this research purpose, the study subjects were 239 middle school students in Gyeonggi - do. The collected data using SPSS 23.0 statistical program was carried out to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis using the AMOS 23.0 program were validated confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The following conclusions were obtained through this research process. First, there is a positive correlation between the intrinsic motivation for the physical education classes of middle school students, the subject interest, and the physical education class happiness. Second, there is a causal relationship between intrinsic motivation, interest in the subject, and happiness of physical education class in middle school students. Third, the causal model of intrinsic motivation, subject interest, and physical education happiness in middle school students is more appropriate in the partial mediation model.

본 연구는 중학생의 체육수업에 대한 내적동기와 교과흥미 및 체육수업행복의 관계모형을 실증적으로 규명하는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구 대상은 경기도에 소재한 중학교를 대상으로 239명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 통계프로그램인 SPSS 23.0을 이용하여 설문지의 신뢰도와 타 당도 검사, 기술통계분석, 상관분석을 실시하였으며, AMOS 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 확인적 요인분석 및 구조방정 식모형 검증을 실시하였다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 중학생의 체육수업에 대한 내적 동기와 교과흥미도 그리고 체육수업행복 간에서는 서로 정적인 상관관계가 있다. 둘째, 중학생의 체육수업에 대한 내적 동기와 교과흥미도 그리고 체육수업행복의 인과관계가 있다. 셋째, 중학생의 체육수업에 대한 내적동기와 교과흥미도 및 체육수업행복의 인과모형은 부분매개모형에서 모형이 더 적합하다.
