Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness, interest, and needs of the occupational therapy students for the dementia care center. Methods : We conducted an online questionnaire survey of 492 occupational therapy students nationwide from July 1 to 31, 2018. General characteristics and perceptions, interests and needs were analyzed by descriptive statistics. One way ANOVA and chi-square test were conducted to compare the differences between the items according to grade and age. Results : Lower awareness was found in National Responsibility for Dementia(2.61±1.0), Dementia Care Center(2.84±0.9) and role of an occupational therapist in the Dementia Care Center(2.94±0.9) of the occupational therapy students. Interest to the employment was investigated between middle and high(3.42±0.9). Education was not sufficient(2.98±0.8), and the adequacy of fieldwork was moderate (3.07±0.8). Conclusion : The results of this study can be served as basic data for enhancing competence as a specialist in the dementia care center. Also, it is expected to be a help to raise awareness of the occupational therapy students.

목적 : 본 연구는 치매안심센터에 대한 작업치료 전공 학생들의 인식, 관심 및 요구도를 조사하기 위하여 실시하였다. 연구방법 : 전국 492명의 작업치료 전공 학생들을 대상으로 2018년 07월 01일부터 2018년 07월 31일까지 온라인 설문지 를 통해 조사를 실시하였다. 일반적 특성과 인식, 관심 및 요구도는 기술통계를 하였다. 학년, 연령에 따른 문항 간의 차이를 비교하기 위해 one way ANOVA와 카이제곱 검정을 실시하였다. 모든 통계분석의 유의수준은 .05로 설정하 였다. 결과 : 작업치료 전공 학생들의 치매국가책임제 인식도는 2.61±1.011점, 치매안심센터 인식도는 2.84±0.9점 작업치료사 의 역할 인식도는 2.94±0.9점으로 낮게 나타났다. 치매안심센터에서 작업치료사 역할의 중요성 인식도는 행정 분야 4.14±0.7점, 가족 및 환자 상담 분야 4.19±0.7점, 인지 재활 프로그램 운영 분야 4.30±0.6점이었다. 관심도에서 취업 의사는 3.42±0.9점, 작업치료사의 전망은 3.90±0.7점으로 나타났다. 요구도에서 교육의 충분도는 2.98±0.8점, 실습의 충분도는 3.07±0.8점이었다. 결론 : 본 연구는 치매안심센터에 대한 작업치료 전공 학생들의 인식, 관심 및 요구도에 대한 기초자료로서 제시될 수 있을 것이다. 향후 치매 전문작업치료사에 대한 기초 교육자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
