Vanity is an important factor that determines what kind of person a teenager grows up to be. This is mainly because of the importance of education in adolescence and the dangerous nature of vanity itself in the education process. Adolescence is the period of preparation before entering adulthood. So if proper education is not done during this period, this will have a huge impact in the future. Wanting to be praised and recognized, showing off their superiority and pursuing power are some of the characteristics that teenagers show, and at the same time, they are forms of vanity as well. Competition for power is bound to lead to violence and tragedy. School violence among teenagers is the result of vanity. In order to explore ways to avoid these problems and help teenagers to grow into healthy adults, the study has developed a plan to cure teenagers' vanity using a novel. The “Frog” by Kim Sung-han shows the tragedy of human society through the tragedy of frog world. Through this novel, readers can learn that a desire for power is the cause of vanity. Vanity leads to violence and tragedy. In addition, readers can reflect on themselves comparing themselves with the characters in this novel.

허영심은 청소년들이 어떤 사람으로 성장할 수 있는지 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 이는 주로 청소년 기 교육 과정에서 허영심 자체가 위험하기 때문이다. 청소년기는 성인기에 접어드는 준비기이다. 이 시기의 교육이 제대로 이루어지지 못한다면 그들의 미래에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 칭찬과 인정받 고 싶어함, 자신의 우월성 과시, 권력 추구 등은 청소년기의 특징이면서 곧 허영심의 표현 양상이다. 무조건적인 권력의 경쟁은 폭력과 비극을 초래한다. 청소년들 사이에서 일어나는 학교폭력은 바로 허영심의 결과물이다. 이런 문제를 피하고 청소년들을 건강한 성인으로 성장시키기 위해 본 연구는 소설을 활용한 청소년들의 허영심 치유 방안을 마련하고자 한다. 김성한의 ｢개구리｣는 개구리 세계 의 우화를 통해 인간 사회의 비극을 보여준다. 독자들은 이 소설을 통해 권력욕망이 허영심을 유발 하는 원인이며, 허영심이 폭력과 비극을 초래한다는 사실을 알 수 있다. 또한 이 소설 중의 등장인물 과 독자 자신을 비교함으로써 자아 성찰도 할 수 있다.
